Re: The way this Board is run
OK, I'm just going to make my one comment. I don't think the software engine running the UKLFPG matters one little bit. What matters is that it facilitates the bringing together of a comminity of like-minded individuals. We should be grateful that someone or a handful of someones give of their time ...

WTB : Quickload film
A long shot I know, but, has anybody got any Fuji Quickload film they want to part with.
Any reversal flavour but especially Provia 100F which I am well short of and will probably have to resort to those little loose sheets very soon. TIA.

Re: Schneider Super Symmar 80/4.5 XL
Its an excellent lens and is indeed comparatively small and light - I replaced my 90/8 SA with it.
I also use in combination with the 58XL.

Re: Whats the difference
Nick, My current films of choice are 1. Fuji Velvia 100 which I would get from here (or search for cheapest); http://www.fujilab.co.uk/catalog/fujichrome-velvia-inch-large-format-colour-transparency-film-20sheet-p-793.html 2. Ilford Delta 100 which I would get from here; http://www.ag-photographic.c...

Re: Whats the difference
Nick, A quick heads-up. The main difference between normal and quickload film is that Quickload is no longer available - they stopped making it make to mine and many others disappointment :( You'll also have a hard time practising loading it if you don't have a Quickload film holder. Going forward y...

Re: Scheimpflug and another question
Remember it like this; Moving the lens further away from the film focusses on closer objects (obvious, I know). When you tilt or swing (either standard) you are moving the lens and film closer together on one side and further apart on the other. With the inverted image that is why tilting the lens d...

Re: Scheimpflug and another question
My thoughts on Scheimphlug after 10 years of shooting LF are this. Scheimphlug found a scientific and technical way of describing a phenomenon that is utilised in large format photography. It is enough for me to understand the general adjustments to camera movements to affect the focusing of my came...

Re: The Most Important Photographer of the Late 20th Century
And the great thing about life be it cooking or photagraphy or anything else is the variation; Put a bunch of cooks in kitchen with a potato each and you'll get chips, mash, roast, boiled, baked, saute, rosti, etc. None are wrong and all are good and we are all richer for having them. Right, my last...

Re: The Most Important Photographer of the Late 20th Century
To continue the analogy; I'd rather use a full featured gas cooker (my Ebony 45SU) than a microwave oven (my digi compact). Although the microwave can be used to quickly proove food combinations for cooking properly later. I'd rather use fresh ingredients (Large sheets of film) than supermarket read...

Another definition of fine art photography exhibitions - £8.50 to get in!
I went to see Joe Cornish's exhib at Faringdon a few years back - £0 to get in!
