Kentmere Doomed
Lee, Kentmere stopped making Document Art because they could no longer obtain the paper base. Kentmere were trying to find another suppler, Eastern Europe was mentioned. I remain unconvinced that Harman will bother to continue the search. As I understand it POP is difficult stuff to make, atmospheri...

Kentmere doomed
Hi Andrea, Which bit do you think I've got wrong? I really can't see a company like Harman keeping two factories open producing the same products (M.G. papers etc.). It also seems that POP paper isn't that easy to produce and I suspect that the market isn't massive (anyone else here tried it?). Vanm...

Kentmere doomed
I've just read on another forum that Harman Technologies has taken over Kentmere. This is really sad news on two points, I doubt if Harman will continue to produce POP. If they do the cost will be astronomical. I doubt if Harman will continue to seek another paperbase to replace the discontinued pap...

7x5 Negative film only $11,217.00!
Megaperls, Japan stock 5x7 Provia. I've never bought stuff from them myself. Japanese companies heve a reputation for being expensive once they bother to produce a website in English. Good luck!

Thanks buze, I've done that before but this bloke was understandably nervous and insured the parcel for his estimate of it's full value. I think that I still got a bargain. It was the VAT on the P&P that wound me up.

Thanks Tim, thats a really interesting bit of info. If I imported goods from inside the E.E.C. would I have to pay V.A.T. on the postage then? Say Photoimpex for instance.

Robbed by H.M. Customs
Vanman didn't write "wouldn't it be great if there were no taxes" read it again. I stated that I didn't mind paying V.A.T. on the camera if I had to. All that I'm objecting to is being ripped off by Customs by being charged on the postage and packing for this item. The packing was quite substantial ...

I've just recieved a beautiful Burke & James 5x7 (with reducing back) from a vendor in the U.S. I don't mind paying V.A.T. on the camera if I have to BUT the Customs charged V.A.T. on the postage and packing (which came to $90-60). This is low, sneaky and an overall vile practice. Beware when import...
