Re: E6 DIY processing?

Thanks all, I've just been hunting around for processors on eBay, there are a few CPE2s which is probably what I'll try and get but I was intrigued to see an ATL 1500, I'm guessing it will go for a lot more than I'm willing to pay but what do you think a fair price would be bearing in mind it's miss...

Re: E6 DIY processing?

Paul I started a thread along these lines back when I got set up to do home E6, might be worth a read if you haven't already as people chipped in with plenty of good advice. I use the fuji kit, doing it all with the standard times, with the addition of a few minutes pre-wash to fix a splattering is...

Re: E6 DIY processing?

Hello ! Having, for a long time, done my E6 at home, I have to comment on your needs. IMHO, the better chemistry kit available is the "Kodak Single Use E6 chemistry kit". It is devised for exactly what you're planning : low or very low volume processing at home. The leaflet give mixing instructions...

Re: E6 DIY processing?

I'm sure Tim won't mind but here's a link to his excellent tutorial on film developing http://www.timparkin.co.uk/blog/jobo-film-developing Paul Thanks Paul, I'll have to have a look at that, should have guessed Tim would have covered this, his site is a mine of information which I've spent quite a...

The amount of film's you can do depends on the quality you expect. Especially the blix part. Colors will become more muddy with each reuse.
Thanks Gary, I was going to do the math later but you beat me to it :)

E6 DIY processing?

I’m thinking of having a go at DIY E6 processing, for chemicals it looks like I have two options, the Fuji Hunt 5L 3 bath kit or the Tetenal 5L 3 bath kit, prices are similar but the Tetenal says it will do 60 films compared to the 40 films for the Fuji kit (135 I assume, don’t yet know how this equ...

9am? Surely real photographers are on site and set-up an hour before sunrise :)

Seriously though, 9am sounds good to me.

Re: Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011

I'd be very disappointed if they cropped an image like this, I wonder what they would have done if it was a panoramic?

And of course congratulations Tim and Paul, cropping or not it's still something to be proud of.

Re: Ebony wide angle fresnel?

Thanks everyone, I fitted the wide angle fresnel in between the GG and protective glass (removing the fresnel that was already there) and it seems to work, focusing seems easy enough and the image seems reasonably bright but it's difficult to know if it's working as it should. I've PM'd Baxter. I th...

Re: Ebony wide angle fresnel?

Thanks Dave, So, just to clarify, the existing set-up is... 1 - GG (which has it's own fresnel etched into the same piece of material) 2 - Another fresnel, not sure what this one is but the camera came with it. 3 - Protective glass. and what I should have is.. 1 - GG (which has it's own fresnel etch...

Ebony wide angle fresnel?

Hi, Appologies if this has already been covered somewhere. I few weeks ago I got hold of the Ebony wide angle fresnel to use with my 45SU and 90mm lens and finding the correct way to fit it has been a challenge to say the least. I finally got around to emailing Ebony for some guidance and they very ...

Re: What is this camera

It looks like a custom job therefore it won't be in the Ebony catalogue (ebay description does mention this). From the look of the bellows and focusing rack I'd say it's only ever going to be of use for super wide angle lenses, at least that's my guess.

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Well, the big difference between us is that you are getting a more regular income than me. I've gone from being in a regular job to trying to get going as a pro freelancer. In this first year, I have taken a 90% drop in what I was earning in a "normal" job. That is very very hard and there are some...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Yes, I would love an Ebony but with things as they currently are, I would have to win the lottery to even contemplate it. Jools, don't beat your self up about lack of funds, I did spent way more than I had planned or could honestly justify and the pictures the Ebony takes won't be any better than a...
