Re: Harman Titan 5x4 Pinhole review

On this subject, is it possible to buy a pinhole that would fit a Linhof Technika standard lens board? Cheers, Val I think Skink Pinhole http://skinkpinhole.com/wp/ make something that fits a Linhof panel. Paul. Thanks Paul, though it would be nice if the website was written in English as well... :...

Re: Harman Titan 5x4 Pinhole review

There is a new, official, YouTube video now out too. http://www.youtube.com/user/harmantl In it we learn that the 72mm cone's pinhole size is 0.35mm which equates to an aperture of f206. If anyone here has the Pocket Light Meter app* for their iPhone (a very inexpensive "spotmeter"), it offers an ap...

Re: Comparison of an image from the Maldon workshop

Hi Joanna I used Velvia 50 and a Lee .6 hard grad, as I wanted to capture the shadow detail in the shadow cast of the boats without loosing that lovely blue sky. I think the fact that it came out as well it did was a fluke*. It was the first time I had ever used Velvia 50 and the first time I had us...

Re: Harman Titan 5x4 Pinhole review

I watched the video on Friday & it's very interesting that the image sharpness with the 72mm cone is so sharp. I am thinking of buying one to experiment. I also note that at £150 it is MUCH cheaper and LIGHTER than buying the "equivalent" Schneider 72XL lens! I'm sure Joanna will be interested...

Re: Maxwell Screen

For the record you can also use an Ebony screen with a Linhof (so much brighter!) monorail, so it should be OK.

They are certainly cheaper that the Paterson film clips I bought over 20 years ago at £3.25 a pair!

Re: Mistakes we've made...

I spent a great day out capturing some superb images in the Spring using my M645 Pro TL with what I thought was a roll of Velvia 100. Only after I got home did I discover that there was no film in the film holder. I now only put the film roll label in the back of the holder after I've loaded the fil...

I forgot to ask.....

Joanna, can you still get Lee filters at the discount rate?

If so could I order a 100mm resin 2c filter via you?

I didn't know there was a world before 10am!

Thanks for the information on the 2C filter, Joanna. PS: Is that lighthouse suffering from Redvia-itis or did the sky really look that colour?

Re: Filter fogging

Divers use a silicone spray to hel keep their goggles from misting up. In the 1980s divers used saliva. Nuff said. Perhaps what is needed is special, heat conductive, Lee glass filters with a heating element round the edge, like you get in cars, operated by a 9v battery. We could call it a Tw...

Re: Ebony wide angle fresnel?

Interesting. I understood that you simply mounted the fresnel with the protective glass on top, just like when using the Maxwell screen. For clarification I suggest you PM either Baxter or Tim. Re: What is this camera

Interesting mongrel of a camera. You'd be better off buying the RSW45 version, which has more movements and is only marginally more expensive, new! I have an extension back so can tell you that what you are looking at in an extension back with a viewing bellows fixed to the back and presumably the s...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Polaroid backs are available for 5x4. Fuji do an expensive PA-45 for full 5x4 images, or you could buy a smaller back, using the same (much cheaper) instant film that one uses to test MF images. The following roll film backs are available for 5x4's with universal backs: 6x7cm, 6x9cm, 6x12cm. They ar...
