Re: RIP
There is definitely a slow down in the postings on here, but there's still a relatively healthy number of people who are using the cameras and indeed meeting up. I meet up quite regularly with Tim and Dav, and I know that they move in big circles with many other people who are also film fans. It's j...

Re: Hi everyone
It's a bit late now Andrew, and I've seen what he's been producing with his post-film setup... he'll be ok!

Servicing Copal Shutters
Hi everyone
I've used a lens that has been in the bag unused for a while, and noticed that the timing on the shutter is all over the place. Anyone know someone who can service a shutter and get it running properly again?
Thanks
Paul

Re: Ageing of Velvia 50
Hi Charles
Are you rating it at 50? Usually, I would rate original Velvia at 32 (and always have), but I haven't seen it get any worse over time. I appreciate that 1/2 a stop is probably a smaller underexposure than you are experiencing though.

Re: 4x5 Velvia 50 update
Hmmmm. Seems that it's unlikely that we'll see a change in the policy then, but at least they now know how strongly people feel about it. Thanks for organising the petition. Even if they do change their mind, I don't think they will sell enough quantity to sustain it. Like last time, the big users o...

WTB: Linhof Techno, Cambo Wide DS, Alpa?
Hi everyone
I'm thinking of splurging on a Techno or something similar, ideally a MF technical camera that can tilt, but i'd consider something that doesn't have tilt if it's available.
Anyone know of anything?
Thanks
Paul

WTB - Darkroom Equipment Esp Enlarger for 6x6
Hi there Does anyone have an enlarger suitable for at least 6x6 that they're looking to get rid of? I'm looking for a full kit, but can get everything else elsewhere if needs be. Most important thing is an enlarger with lenses suitable for larger film formats (6x6 is fine), suitable condenser and ne...

Re: Heads up to Howtek 4500 owners
I thought about upgrading the OS, but I don't think the SCSI will work if you do, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Didn't we figure that the password was "password"?
Anyway, have you actually managed to scan anything yet, Rod?

Re: Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011
Thanks for the name check DJ, an interesting point though - the LF images by me and Tim were both cropped from the original 5x4 to something closer to 35mm, spoiling the look of them. Mine is probably cropped less badly than Tims, but here's the damage if anyone wants to see... http://static.timpark...

Re: FS: Howtek 4500 Drum Scanner
Hi Ray It's a completely different beast really. You'll be able to get every single scrap of detail from the negatives with the scanner, and then you'll be able to make any adjustments you want on the computer, rather than by hand on the enlarger, so from that point of view it's a hell of a lot bett...

SOLD: Howtek 4500 Drum Scanner
I'm reluctantly selling my Howtek 4500 Drum Scanner (badged as a crosfield celsis). It scans up to 4000 dpi, without the need for interpolation. It's in great condition and is fully working. It comes with a Apple G4 computer, monitor, and silverfast software for the high resolution scanning. Also wi...
