Thanks for that Matt, it seems we both need lessons in IT.
Keith, funnily enough the horse on the tor was made with an old nikon F4 at 5am. The other two made on my Wista with a 210mm lens and shot on Ilford FP4.

Welcome to the club Bill. I too have a Wista DX and enjoy the simplicity of it. Having said that, I'm still on a very steep learning curve, but shall persevere all the same.
Best wishes,
John

Paul,
You wont regret it, as long as you can master the Oxford one way systems and avoid cycling undertgraduates. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Mmm, perhaps they copied his signature too, Keith. No, I think they were all handprinted by him, or at the very least an assistant!

Managed to get to Oxford for the Ansel Adams exhibition. The lighting was slightly improved on Edinburgh. There were a few duplications but nonetheless an inspiring trip.

He certainly isn't shy of blowing his own trumpet...
Come on. Who's blowing who's trumpet!! Given the time scale he was given I think he did rather well. At least it gave an insight into large format photography, wether you like the photos or not.

I don't know if it is the same exhibition, but the one in Edinburgh is from the George Eastman House Collection and also includes The Landscape Photography of Lindsay Robertson. I might just visit Oxford and compare the difference. It's certainly food for thought and inspired me to get off my arse (...

Just got back fron Edinburgh and had the good fortune to see the Ansel Adams exhibition at the City Art Centre. The photos in his various books don't do them justice until you see them face to face. Well worth the trip and it is on until the 20th.
Happy snapping,

Dartmoor Spring weekend

I had thought about getting out onto Dartmoor for a weekend, say from mid April, to early May? The Cornwall meeting seems to have fizzled out somewhat. If anyone would be interested in joining me, PM me. I can put up maybe 2 or 3 couples and there is bags of space to camp on our farm if the need aro...

For a first attempt they are very good, a bit blue I thought. The second one appeals to me more with the water line converging with the cloud to the building in the distant. Maybe I'll summon up the confidence to show mine at some point.
Best wishes,
