Re: The wonders of *bay !

I never found the MPP to be too heavy, but then I'm a big bloke. :D

Re: The wonders of *bay !

Rigging the market would imply collaboration between sellers  - can't see that happening on ebay. Setting market expectations is another thing - again caveat emptor! It needs someone to go into competition with him - watch the prices fall then... And if he wants buy loads of stock an...

Re: The wonders of *bay !

Caveat emptor. If people will pay the prices he is asking, that'ts their lookout. They don't have to buy from him but they seem to be satisfied - look at the 99% rating. Just goes to prove that market forces don't work for rare or specialist items! Another example - 35mm N back for Bronica ETRSi - L...

Re: Aren't you glad you used film?!

Hi Joanna, Glad you got most of your files back and thanks for the tips. I don't rely on DVDs for the active files, and my main files are backed up on an off-line drive, so effectively I have 3 copies - 1 fallback set (the DVDs), a main drive (on the PC) and an off-line drive (the backup). I will al...

Re: Aren't you glad you used film?!

Comiserations and good luck Joanna. During the Millenium changeover in BT I once had my entire filing system (3 years work) trashed by the engineer doing the upgrade. Being a sceptical s*d, I had already backed up most data but still lost all my emails. Painful. And embarrasing - it was my team runn...

French aficionados of f/256 pinhole cameras recommend this kind of multi-purpose shutter, probably invented by Nicéphore Niépce himself : Very good Emannuel, an entirely practical suggestion using something to hand. I come from a background in engineering and therefore necessarily think that any so...

Hi, I've decided to have a go at pinhole but decided that my MPP would do the job as well as a deicated box (albeit a very desirable box!), so for £10 plus postage I bought the pinhole and made a lensboard (4 layers of black mount board stuck together). It lacks a shutter but not much of a problem t...

The Elinchrom D-Lite kits are good and well priced - and they take all the Elinchrom accessories. The latest ones are fan cooled. They do 200/200, 400/400 and 200/400 kits including stands, bags and 2 softboxes. Watch for umbrellas though - the shaft hole is 7mm not the normal 8 so any you have may ...

Alan rebuilt a knackered Compur 00 for me (Ebay cheap job with v.nice Linhoff select Super Angulon 90 elements). I was delighted with the results; certainly better than some of my newer shutters.

Sfunny, I bought a Shen Hao version (fits MPP VII) from Badgergraphic last year for £9.95 and the shipping was $22. I also bought one from SatinSnow direct, and that cost about the same (got fed up waiting). If you have not already, I suggest you drop Badger an email and ask the cost of shipping; I ...
