Re: Velvia 50 vs Velvia 100 vs Velvia 100F
By the way, another question just popped un in my head: what's the dynamic range of these films? I expect it to be far shorter than negatives, something in the region of 6 EV I would think.
Cheers

Re: Velvia 50 vs Velvia 100 vs Velvia 100F
Fuji recommend a 2C filter, which is a very pale yellow, at locations where you are likely to experience high UV levels, such as coastal regions or high elevations. I have found that such a filter does make a difference to the "shouting" of primary colours at the ends of the day. That's good to kno...

Hi Numnutz,
thanks for your suggestions, I'll keep them in mind. I might skip Nunhead Cemetery though, I don't like the idea of being chased by yobs while running with my camera over the shoulder...

Re: London Locations?
The only way you can visit the cemetery is on one of their guided tours and it specifically states 'no tripods' http://www.highgate-cemetery.org/index.php/tours Yep, I read all the info some time ago and was gutted to know that no tripods are allowed. Still, since I'm unbelievably stubborn and I ne...

Re: London Locations?
I don't think you'll get anywhere with Highgate as they won't budge on their 'no tripods' policy... have tried! *big sigh* Why is there such a big issues with tripods?!? :? Did they give you a satisfactory reason why you were not allowed to use a tripod? West Brompton is part of the Royal Parks whe...

Epson V700 as Densitometer
Hello,
has anyone ever attempted to use the Epson Perfection V700 as a densitometer. I found a couple of interesting articles on the web, but they were more theoretical than practical. Any suggestion is more than welcome!
Cheers,
Val

Re: Velvia 50 vs Velvia 100 vs Velvia 100F
Ok, it seems that the choice of film goes down to personal preference, strangely enough ;) I will keep in mind the issue of the red cast at dusk/dawn, and it seems I don't need to worry about CC filters on Velvia 50 with long exposures. [...]She'll tell you all about its benefits and her love of the...

Re: Locations close to London
Hi Clive,
I'm glad to know they don't fuss about tripod and a large format camera For the moment I won't attempt taking pictures inside the glass houses though.

Re: Velvia 50 vs Velvia 100 vs Velvia 100F
Hi Dave,
thanks for your suggestions as well. Is there actually a way to correct the red response? I remember reading on the tech specs that CC filters should be used with long exposures, but I'm not sure if it applies to that issue as well.

Re: Locations close to London
Hi Clive,
I completely forgot about Kew Gardens!... I've been there before with a tripod, though with a DSLR, and no one did bother me indeed. Did you have to ask permission to use your 8x10, or you just went there and took pictures?
Valerio
ps: nice shot, by the way.

Re: London Locations?
Hi Paul, thanks for the hint, I've always been attracted by the Battersea Power Station and wondered if I could take pictures of it. Unfortunately my bad experiences with the tripod were all in the locations you mentioned. Security guards seem to be very afraid of tripods and have come with up with ...

Locations close to London
Hello again, following from my previous post, is there any location near London you would reccomend, that I could reach by train (I don't have a car)? I like walking a lot, so trudging along muddy roads and fields won't be an issue. Let's say I'm trying to avoid the issues I discussed in my post on ...

London Locations?
Hi there, is there any location in London where I could go and use my view camera without being shouted at because I'm posing a security issue, or I don't have insurance, etc etc etc? In all honesty I'm getting really frustrated - and mighty annoyed - with being asked what I'm doing and why, every s...
