Re: CS6 subscriptions
Is there an effective and affordable alternative to using colour profiles when scanning in transparencies to correct for scanner colour without using CS6? :? If you use Vuescan for example you can (as I do) apply the colour profile for the scanner at the scanning stage automatically, then import yo...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
As far as I know Shen hao's have never come with cover glass since they don't come with a fresnel, so sounds like someone had just reversed the glass on yours. Maybe they liked slightly out of focus images.

Re: Old Man of Storr viewpoint
I remember the walk up to the Storr as being a bit of a steep zig-zag trudge up through some woods - I'd allow a fair bit of time for it!
Re: Elgol
I can't think of the shot you mean, but the cover of First Light with that round almost canonball-like rock is just a bit further round from the school and that honeycombed rock, facing directly out towards garbh bheinn on the cuillin - its a very well known and popular spot.

Possible new lightweight 4x5 from the States
I thought I'd plug this in case anyone is interested and hasn't caught onto this from elsewhere: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wanderlust/travelwide-45-camera I reckon this is a great idea and worth supporting, not only as its a good product, but cheap, and could get a few more people into she...

That's encouraging, where did you unearth that from Tim?
Are we then to assume that the alleged discontinuation story was some kind of "cockup on the communication front" by the UK distributor?

I think the cameras in questions are full 6x17 field cameras, not fixed bodies, so they do have swing etc.

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
I must admit I've used my RSW in rainy british weather, snow, sweaty summer evenings and ultra-dry desert conditions and I can't honestly say I've even noticed any significant change in the focussing, certainly nothing that ever caused a problem or anything approaching it "locking up". And as jools ...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
Ebony's are over-priced. The RSW45 has limited movements in order to reduce its weight - it's LF for hiking. It's also a non-folder, which may be a problem for Nomad. Although not wood and brass, the Chamonix is more camera for £600 new . The Chamonix regularly garners good reviews. The way I read ...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
If you can find one on budget (safer if you can run to ~£700ish) second hand then an ebony rsw45 is ideal for your requirements.

Colours on that look as you'd expect given the likely lighting conditions - no problems there, unless you fancy it warmer as a matter of taste.
