Re: Recommend a lightmeter?

Paul, I am sorry to hear of the demise of your meter. It's like losing a familiar friend! My mainstay is the Pentax digital spotmeter, which has no memory function, but it is totally reliable, resistant to flare, and doesn't need to be switched on and off. I'm on the waiting list for a Metered Light...

Re: Arca style QR plate advice please

I've got several QR plates from RRS, http://reallyrightstuff.com/home.html, and they are very good but pricey. Huge range.

Joanna, may I ask what is the evidence for your contention regarding the orientation of the colours of the hallowed British darkcloth?

Re: Who can service my Sinar P 10x8 (Manchester UK)?

I suggest you try Mike Walker, http://www.walkercameras.com. Great guy, services LF cameras for various well-known professionals, long experience. I have no connection with Mike, so this recommendation is not prejudiced by commercial or other links. He's not that far from you, on that little bit of ...

Re: What format?

This poll does have a 6x17 option, and that's not 100 square centimetres either… But on this issue, you are wrong :P 6 x 17 = 102, unless medical maths is different from photography maths  It depends on what you take to be the dimensions of the format. I have seen the Fotoman dimensions quoted...

Re: What format?

I also use 6x7, in the RZ for those times when 4x5 might get blown over and in the 7II because that is my snappy camera; but I would hardly call them LF  Nor would I Joanna, but may I be given leave to suggest to the "purists" amongst us that the use of roll film on the 5x4 view camera, apply...

Re: What format?

[Haughtily]I am afraid we don't touch lesser formats.[/Haughtily] Charles Er, I do, Charles… I voted 5x7 but I found myself unable to tick a box for 6x9! BTW it seems that unlike on most similar fora it's possible to vote on more than one occasion. Therefore the results may mean even less than they...

David, I do a bit of colour in 5x7 size (more B&W!) using Velvia 100 from Japan Exposures. UK labs that I am informed have the correct hangers include MPS Liverpool (mpsimaging.co.uk), Colorbase Headington Oxford (colorbase.co.uk), Metro Imaging London (metroimaging.co.uk), Bayeux London (bayeux.co....

Thanks Joanna, that's helpful. My Jobo 3006 tank would have a problem, but for changing film it could be OK.

I'm in the market for a changing tent, and I hadn't seen the Calumet version which does look good (and costs less than the Harrison). Can I ask Joanna if she thinks that it would be big enough to handle 5x7 DDs and film box?

Thanks, George

Congratulations Joanna—I wish I had the time to do the same. Show us your stitched pic, please. If you happen to have spare room in your tank for any 5x7's, do let me know…!
