Ultra Large Format & Focus On Imaging

Hi, Just been sent some details of the forthcoming Focus On Imaging event at the NEC. It included this short video http://www.focus-on-imaging.co.uk/show-jennifer-trausch.htm about Jennifer Trausch who it seems will be present at the show. Suddenly my 5"x4" seems rather undersized :( . Anyone thinki...

Re: Next official get-together: April16 & 17

Hi Charles, I am definitely interested in attending this as I've not been to any of the previous workshops/meetings. Not sure if I'd be a "residential" member as I live fairly close by - near Northallerton - and could travel daily. Depending on other commitments, I might also be able to offer some a...

Re: UK source of large lens caps?

Hi David, Not sure if you're a member of the Large Format Photography Forum, but there's currently a 110mm Rodenstock lens cap for sale for $15. I know you were asking about a UK source, but thought I'd include the link anyway. http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=71133&high...

Re: WTB: Nikon 200mm M f/8

Hi Andrew, Many thanks for the link. My apologies that I haven't said in this thread that I have indeed obtained a Nikkor 200mm, and from a member of our forum - David Evans. As with the other items I've got from David, it is in superb condition. I still can't quite believe how small and light this ...

Re: Hi from North Yorkshire

Hi David, Welcome to the forum. I live near Northallerton so I guess we can't be that far apart. I don't think the Northallerton club does much in the way of LF, but if you're thinking of a local "shoot" sometime please let me know. I'm usually fairly flexible in terms of my commitments/schedules - ...

Re: WTB: Ebony Top Hat Extension/Parts

Hi, I was wondering if you had any further thoughts on these now that you've had more time to use them? There's a rumour about an old guy with a white beard and a red suit due sometime soon, but I guess he'd need to get his orders in quite soon. Hi Peter, I ordered a set of these about 6 weeks ago....

Re: scanning colour negatives, how?

Hi, Tim Parkin mentioned in another topic that one of our forum members (present/past?), Ben Anderson, uses the Colorperfect plug-in for Photoshop for conversion of colour negs http://benneh.net/blog/index.php/2010/09/25/vuescan-colorperfect-a-guide/ . Just wondering if anyone else uses this approac...

Re: WTB: Nikon 200mm M f/8

If you are interested in macrophotography I can recommend Schneider's very small & lightweight (mounted in a Copal 0 shutter) 120mm/f5.6 Makro Symmar HM, which is exceptionally sharp, and easier to obtain than the equally excellent Nikkor macro lens. I bought mine secondhand from Robert White. If i...

I saw this advertised last Sunday and was seriously considering it, but have now decided not to go for it. With carriage and duty/taxes it works out at...

Re: Hiya, anyone in the Lakes?

Hi Jenny, Welcome to the group. I'm over in North Yorks and also have an Ebony 45S, together with far too many lenses! For me it's a couple of hours drive over to the lakes, but, as I'm now retired, my time's my own (wife permitting!) so that's not really a problem. I was thinking of having a day-tr...

Re: WTB: Nikon 200mm M f/8

I bet the difference in brightness between 200/8 and 210/9 is negligable on the glass. Its only a third of a stop, difference in length notwithstanding. Thanks Dave, My fault for confusing the issue :$ . I really meant the difference between the Rodenstock 210mm f/5.6 I'm using at present and eithe...

Re: WTB: Nikon 200mm M f/8

They're like gold dust...... Hi, Thanks for the good news! I knew they were not that common, but didn't realise they'd achieved cult status. I've more or less given up trying to find one and decided to go for a 210mm G-Claron instead. However, these are f/9 and as I'll probably use it more for macr...

Re: WTB: Ebony Top Hat Extension/Parts

Thanks again Stephen. I'll order a set of these if I can't get hold of a S/H Ebony set at a reasonable price.
Regards,
Rod.
