Re: Fogging
Try going into a dark room and shining a very bright torch through the bellows, with the lens off. You should be able to see light spilling out if you have any light leaks (make sure the torch is sealed in the end so there is no light spill.)

Re: WTB: Rodenstock Grandagon-N 90 mm f/4.5
I think most of their lens prices there would be steep even if they weren't then adding 20% VAT on top! (Any idea why some second hand retailers continue to add full VAT, when actually on second hand gear they only need to add VAT onto their markup, not on the full price?) No idea but I'm sure HMRC...

Re: Processing Times
You could ask them to do a clip test (or do it yourself) by developing the first couple of frames and seeing how they look.
Most likely is that it will be fine at the standard E6 time, unless film was exposed 40+ years ago and you have to deal with base fog.
I get all my chemicals from AG.

Re: Prefect 4x5 enlarger
It's a buy once in your lifetime investment, why not wait for a De Vere 504, you won't ever want another enlarger.
(No idea about 50's enlargers, they may be as good as the 504)

Re: The Most Important Photographer of the Late 20th Century
Chris Killip springs to mind for his documentary work in the North East in the 1980s and his book In Flagrante . A lot of that work was shot on 5x4, as was his series on the Pirelli tyre factory. http://www.chriskillip.com/ One of my favourite ever books, would love to see an exhibition of his work.

Re: The Most Important Photographer of the Late 20th Century
Looks interesting but love him (or hate him) the title is surely about Martin Parr.
His style in the 80's was 25 years ahead of it's time.

Re: Lots of questions
Hi Ed the wet plate 'purists' would say that shooting with a modern shuttered optic somewhat defeats the purpose of trad wet pl photography but there's no reason why you cannot use this type of lens and perhaps move up to a more typical brass lens later good luck anyhow and regards andrew Older len...

Lots of questions
Ok here goes, Google isn't much help. Can I do wet plate with my Toyo field 5x4/modern copal lenses and can you modify standard darkslides to fit? Not sure what I want to do yet (looks like a workshop is in order,) can I produce 5x4 glass negs and print them traditionally or are 5x4 positives and fl...
