Dave,
I've been told by people who are very particular about their pictures that CC Imaging in Leeds are good. http://www.ccimaging.co.uk/
I have no direct experience of them myself, though.
Good luck,
Gavin

Re: 5x4 field camera availability in the UK
Joanna, thanks, that would be useful. I'm in York. I had a chance to look at a Wista 45DX recently while staying with friends. It seemed nicely made and very light (even with the 210mm lens that was mounted). They seem expensive for what they are at new prices, though, but it could be a possibility ...

Re: 5x4 field camera availability in the UK
Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. There's plenty for me to think about. At the moment with the Euro exchange rate almost 1 to 1, it's not a great time to be buying from European suppliers. I'm hoping to be able to get to 'Focus on Imaging' exhibition in February. Do Robert White or any o...

Re: Hello from York
Thanks, Paul. Yes, I do regard the 'big H' as real photography too - I should've put one of those winky, smiley things next to that comment!

Re: 5x4 field camera availability in the UK
Thank you all for your replies so far. DJ, I had been aware that the Tachihara has some build-quality issues and I'd certainly consider a TZ45-IIB which I understand is better for wide angle lenses. Paul, I am also considering the Chamonix as it looks from pictures to be a good design, well made and...

5x4 field camera availability in the UK
I posted this request for advice on the LFP forum but was pleased to be told about this forum so it's another 'newbie' question, I'm afraid! I live in York and am just thinking seriously about going into large format (5x4). Having sold some medium-format gear, I have a few hundred pounds to spend on...

Hello from York
Joanna kindly suggested I join this forum after I posted on the LFP Forum. I live in York and currently I shoot colour transparencies of landscapes and general pictorial subjects on 6x6cm using a Hasselblad system. I enjoy this very much but I've now started to think very seriously about getting a 5...
