A suitable printer
I want to produce internegs for the VDB process. My cheap inkjet printer is leaving vertical tramlines - which are not too noticible - and horizontal lines of pigment-less dots - almost like rows of pin-pricks in the interneg which look frightfully unanalog. So I need something less nasty. But I am ...

Just to let you know that Ilford are again producing Ultra Large Format film for 2012. Our own Mike Walker is distributing it - see http://www.largeformatfilm.com/ - to avoid the minimum quantity problem. Closes June 22nd.

Re: Photographing Buildings.
Sinar's F and P (don't know about Norma) have just one problem: the spirit level is on the foot of the standard, below the hinge and not on the actual standard. Here's an example of what goes wrong: let's say you start off with the rear standard horizontal on both the X and Y axes; you then tilt it ...

Hello Keith, I am not sure how many folk still use LF professionally when there are so many digital alternatives. OK they're expensive, but you've got to look the part, right? Anyway, I have used LF for commissions and architecture is the main chance I get (although I am developing the portraiture s...

I am looking for a spare collar to go on to the rail of a Sinar - the collar that forms the conformer layer between the standard tubular rail and the clamp.
Can anyone help?

Hello Robin,
I am guessing that the thin lens rule will get you under way. Not sure though.

Hello Paul, Yes I did. The weather was dry and cloudy till 12ish and then turned v. wet. I got half-a-dozen shots. I was fortunate that they were carrying out repairs on the rails, so that they had to have the gondola in the middle for several hours. I could take my time to compose: http://www.citie...

Fantastic stuff, Susie. Not the easiest thing to cut internal threads, I am told.
Are you offering to do this for people on the forum?
Keep up the good work.

Re: Getting a metal lens board rebored - any suggestions?
There's a chap up the road, whom I employ for these jobs. I'd guess £10 + postage to and from London - pm if you want help. I know there are people on the forum who can do it. As Dave says, workshops and anywhere advertising precision engineering can help.
Good luck!

Transporter Bridge
I have arranged to take photographs of the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge on the Saturday 21st of April. They're happy for me to bring a few friends along, so if any LF'ers want to get close and personal with the Bridge, just drop me a line. We'll get access to the top level and if we smile kindly...
