...I was going to invest in the Epson 750 (?) with the glass plate but have not yet done so and continue to send my film to the pro lab. They have an Imacon which works very well. Is anyone using the new Epson and can they confirm that it is up to the standard required. I don't have one, but from r...

....There is a section dedicated to printing resolutions that seems to bear out my postulation that you edit your image at either 240 or 300dpi(ppi) and then just send it to the printer.... The resolution that you edit your image at is an irrelevance. It makes no difference at all to the image. It ...

I got done for import duty, VAT and a courier surcharge. I don't know what exchange rate they use for calculating the VAT, but its not very close to the real rate. Still financially worthwile though.

Tony, A really good image. Not exactly the bog standard shot, and all the better for it. Lots of drama. What time of the day was it taken? I would guess mid-morning. I think it has bags of potential in a "proper" print. Perhaps dodging the lower left a touch, but not too much. It is difficult to tra...

I ordered mine on Monday evening, and I will be getting on Thursday. Have you had an order confirmation? I have dealt with B&H a few times, and have had no problem whatsoever.

B&H: Macro 120mm f/5.6 Nikkor-AM(ED) Lens with Copal #0

Hi, If anybody is after a (good?) new macro lens, B&H are selling the Macro 120mm f/5.6 Nikkor-AM(ED) Lens with Copal #0 Shutter for $300. With $40 shipping that is still less than £200. Apparently they are going second hand on eBay for much more than this, so hurry if you want one. Throw in a few o...

Empty 5x4 Sheet Film Boxes

Hi,

If anybody has any of the above going spare, I could do with just a couple. Send me a message, and I will of course reimburse postage.

Changing Tents

Hi, I would like to hear some opinions of the above. I am thinking of the Harrison tents vs the Calumet box. I will be using it for 5x4. Concerning the Harrison tents, although the "pup" is the recommened one for 5x4, is it adequate? I have rather large, sometimes clumsy, hands and am wondering if t...

How does it compare to an analogue print? I have read that the ability to capture shadow detail can be a bit lacking.

Another one for the darkroom. I am in the process of setting one up at home. Once completed, I expect I will spend a lot of time in there.

Just an observation on the Polaroid figures. It would seem from the charts that the reciprocity is in the negative direction as time increases. If correct, this indicates that you have to reduce the exposure for longer times :!: The vertical axis is the speed change. Thus as the -ve value increases...

...The problem with specifying shutter speeds would be that +1/3 stop is not easy to achieve on most LF shutters. If your uncorrected reading was 1/4 sec, what would you set for +1/3 stop? +1 stop would be 1/2 sec, so I guess +1/3 would be around 5/12 sec, something I can't find on my shutter :? Jo...

Polaroid 54 & 55? Also, with the exception of the Ilford graph, I assume that it is aperture changes you have listed. It would be nice to also have shuter speed changes. I was also in the process of compiling myself this type of data, to add to my little collection of laminated charts for use in the...
