On the subject, can anyone explain me what an expert drum is? The Jobo website doesn't make it clear at all. Are they actually better for film processing than the normal tanks?
Cheers,
Valerio

Re: The Return Of Jobo?
I read about it today on ePhotozine. I'm very happy about it, but I have to say the price is a little bit steep! As every other bit of equipment from Jobo I must say; I think I've posted about the ~£100 I wasted in buying the reel loader...

Re: Moved to Ipswich
Hi David, thank you very much and apologies for the delay in replying to you. I really like the area where I live in Ipswich and enjoy the quiet of being out of London. Well, kind of, since I still commute there to work. I'd definitely like to meet up sometimes. It's good to know that another LF pho...

Moved to Ipswich
Hello everyone, after a long spell of silence, due to my recent relocation to Ipswich and finishing to organise my wedding, I'm finally able to contribute again to this forum. Is there anyone else on here who lives in Ipswich or nearby? Any location you would suggest? I've seen some interesting spot...

Re: Home Processing
Hi Scott, I personally use a Jobo 2500 tank system for developing my 4x5 B&W sheets and a Calumet light-tight tent for loading the sheets into the film holders or developing reels. The Jobo tank is quite easy to load, though it needs a lot of liquid, about 1.5 L, unless us use the roller base, in wh...

Re: Highly diluted vs Two Baths developers
Thanks for the explanation Phil. I was expecting that the two techniques wouldn't yield significant differences, but I guess - as others suggested - it's all down to do my tests and see which one gives me the results I want!

Re: Recomendation for a 90mm lens
Hi Mat, I use a Schneider Kreuznach Super Angulon 90mm f/5.6 multi-coated and I'm extremely happy with it. I got it second hand from Linhof & Studio in Leigh-on-Sea. The lens is pin sharp and has ample movements on my 4x5 Technikardan, provided I use bag bellows instead of the standard tapered ones....

Re: Highly diluted vs Two Baths developers
Hi Phil, thank you for sharing your techniques on the two types of compensating developers. Just a quick question: if you took two identical pictures and then developed one negative in a highly diluted developer and the other with the two baths technique, would you get similar results or would they ...

Re: Determing normal development for film
I received the step wedge a couple of days ago. I didn't expect it to be so small, though it fits without any trouble in the film holder of my scanner. Hopefully it'll help me with my experiments.

Re: 'Mod 54' film holder for Paterson tank - Any experiences
Using the Jobo loader is an, expensive, option and in the end it's still not that straightforward I've found. I bought one of those and when I got it, I thought "this is definitely not worth that much money...". Also, instead of making things easier, it made them more cumbersome! Though I suppose i...
