Re: WTB: a lens to start with
Joanna / Dave Oops, looks like I've caused crossed wires! :? My original reply to the OP was that I didn't know the size of shutter on the lens at the eBay link, and the size was the relevant part for him. Further on I explained that the shutter only went to 1/400 and the chart I had checked showed ...

Re: WTB: a lens to start with
There's one on eBay that seems to fit the bill, but I'm not sure of the shutter size so you'd need to ask the seller. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCHNEIDER-SYMMAR-150MM-F5-6-LARGE-FORMAT-LENS-SHUTTER_W0QQitemZ230409863617QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Photography_Film_Cameras_ET?hash=item35a57f81c1 I think 150mm ...

Re: Competition - Win Your Own Exhibition
I'm tempted to think that there was a deliberate choice to pick three shots that could be described as good, bad and ugly, so your one would obviously be representing Good in relation to the other 2 which could be interchangeable as Bad and Ugly. Mind you, it's interesting how the other 2 are panos ...

Many congratulations Paul, it's a cracking shot! I think the question refers to your prize of a Joe Cornish print and whether you get the one he has provided or if you get a choice. Could be wrong, though!Paul Arthur wrote:I don't get it.

Re: Numbering sheets of film
Logic would seem to dictate that there must be a way of doing this as presumably commercial labs must do it? I'm thinking in terms of the lab linking your sheet with a number/unique reference and presumably this must be a sticker that can survive processing chemicals? While loose sheet film would be...

Looks like the Manfrotto 405 but a bit more than I wish to pay - ho hum :? :'( nn :) There's one on eBay finishing at the weekend, so it could go quite a bit higher. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MANFROTTO-405-PROFESSIONAL-GEARED-HEAD-S7_W0QQitemZ330374578434QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccesso...

Re: Someone got a good deal ... hopefully!
If the seller had listed it correctly in LF Cameras rather than in MF & LF Film, I'm guessing they would have got a considerably higher price!

Re: Linhof super tech 5x4 valuation
Just a word of caution on pricechecking somewhere like Ffordes is that they are selling commercially with a decent guarantee and too many private sellers seem to think their unwarranted item is worth the same. Ffordes either sell on commission where the owner gets 80% of the asking price, or they wi...

Re: 5x4 field camera availability in the UK
Shen Hao 5x4 cameras may or may not be available from Foto-Arte at the link below. I can't be more specific as there seems to be some doubt about getting in touch with them, but they also appear to be trading on eBay under the name of UK Topstock selling 5x4s including Shen Hao. http://www.foto-arte...

I'm afraid they have closed down according to the AP thread at the link below, and that is quoting a company source. It's a shame as they were a good company to deal with.

There seems to be a bit of doubt about this, but I saw somewhere that they might be trading on eBay under the name at the link.
