Re: Fuji Hunt E6 6-Bath Chemistry

Hi Ben,

Many thanks for the information. That sounds very economical. Where do you get the digibase kit chemistry from? The only digibase kit I can find is C-41 chemistry for negatives, not E6 for slides.

Kindest regards,

Rod.

Fuji Hunt E6 6-Bath Chemistry

Hi Everyone, Just a quick query to ask whether anyone has purchased any of the Fuji Hunt E6 chemistry recently. The cheapest UK supplier I've found is Ag Photographic at ~£93+delivery for the 5 litre kit, but I'm wondering if there's anywhere else in the UK? There are at least a couple of Germany co...

Re: WTB Fuji Transparency 5x4 film

Hello everyone - I am new to the forum and in fact to 5x4 photography - I am looking to get some film stock and wonder if anyone has any Fuji colour transparency available. Happy with Velvia or Provia 50 - 100 ASA. All the best, Matt Hi Matthew, Welcome to large format and to the forum. I've just b...

Re: Firmware Update Problems on Howtek 4500

Hi Tim, Many thanks for the quick reply and the profiling offer. Just a quick query though............is there a minimum resolution I can scan the target at for you to profile successfully? If 200 dpi would be OK then I can email the tiff file, but if it's 1000 dpi I think it's a USB stick in a jiff...

Re: Firmware Update Problems on Howtek 4500

Hi Tim, It's desperately embarrassing to respond to your kind note and detailed advice after an inordinate length of time, but I've been totally inactive in the photographic field for almost 6 months (long story) and didn't realise you'd posted this. I've only just started looking at the forum again...

Re: Firmware Update Problems on Howtek 4500

Hi Joe, Many thanks for the detailed instructions - much better than the ones from Aztek :!: . I only received the software last Thursday, so haven't had a chance to speak directly with them yet. Their printed instructions indicated that it was just necessary to run the flash.bat file, but clearly n...

Firmware Update Problems on Howtek 4500

Hi, Happy Easter weekend to all. I’m currently having a frustrating time trying to update the Firmware on my Howtek 4500 to the latest version, i.e. R813. This is apparently required so that the DPL software that I’ve just received will operate correctly – currently my Firmware is R811. I’ve followe...

Re: Wephota NP22 B&W Film

I think it's beautiful stuff, and it's the only emulsion I've shot on whole plate. Questions tend to arise as to specks on sheets when compared with Ilford's higher QC, but I've never found a brand that doesn't occasionally have QC problems and Ilford is out of my price range. I dev in Rodinal. htt...

Wephota NP22 B&W Film

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has used this sheet film and can offer any opinions as to how good or bad it is. I've been looking for some time for whole plate film (8.5" x 6.5") and can now get hold of some Wephota. My only other option is to wait for the next round of Ilford special size orders whic...

Re: Time to stock up on Portra

Hi Charles, I've imported film a couple of times from the USA (Badger Graphic), with no problems apart from having to pay the shipping costs, import duty and VAT :!: . I always assume that the latter two items will be charged at 5% and 20% and then decide if it's worthwhile costwise (I've only ever ...

Re: Heads up to Howtek 4500 owners

Hi Paul, Happy New Year and many thanks for the input. No problems at all with the scanner really - just me :? . I did a test scan when I got it home, which was fine with the Mac. However, not being able to transfer readily the files over to my PC for processing was an inconvenience, as my existing ...

Re: Cutting down 5"x4" film?

Hi Matt, If you have a Rotatrim style cutter or a guillotine, just set up a fixed stop three and a quarter inches from the cutting edge (easiest way is probably a piece of card attached with double-sided tape) and also cut a small separate piece of loose card, or plastic, one inch wide. Then do the ...
