C41 developing in the UK?
I've just discovered that The Darkroom in Cheltenham, who have been doing my 120 colour rolls, don't do colour negative in 4x5. They do 4x5 trannies brilliantly well, but I'm using up an old box of NPS160 and they no longer run that service. Suggestions on a postal developing service, please? Anywhe...

Colour transparencies look fine, but given the delicacy of exposing them black and white neg is certainly a lot easier (and cheaper) and probably better to start with. The exposure times depend on ... first having the optimal size pinhole for the focal length you want to use. There are calculators o...

Fortunately, photography is the most inclusive of all arts, so we can play to our heart's content. I think Marc is right about the living room wall factor ... have you tried converting it with a tortoiseshell toning? Hallmark would love that. I go for the cropped square - you got contrast, flaunt it...

Uranium, one of the most challenging aspects of critiquing is the need for objectivity, so I'd like to take up one of your comments ... I feel that the first one is more like a tourist’s image! I don’t like it at all! These are your feelings, but what are your thoughts about tourist images? Do you m...

Ole, some time around 1925 my dad was in Hell and sent back the obligatory picture post card (bw shot with hand-tinted colour, I think) of the railway station. I was briefly there myself in the seventies and have a strong image in my mind of the landscape between Dombas and Andalsnes, and the Romsda...

Does 4X5 photography have a modern place without the £20,000 scanner? Unequivocally yes, though still, as you say Bobbo, much will be down to your expectations of what you want. It's easy enough to argue that if your images are only going online then a digicam or a 35mm p&s (and a lot of PhotoShop)...

Swansea Valley, South Wales
Hi everyone I figured one way to introduce myself would be in the Locations socket with a preview of where I live and work. Specifically the Swansea Valley in South Wales (UK) ... I don't travel much at present, but I get around this area with a diesel Escort and a variety of cameras. :D 35mm http:/...
