12 x 10 VC Fibre Base paper
Hi I am looking for somewhere to purchase a box (50 sheets) of 12 x 10 Fibre Base paper VC if possible Grade 2 if not. I looked around on the net and it seems no one stocks this size any more. Only 4 to 6 months ago it was listed by Silverprint and many other online retailers. Can anyone suggest whe...

Re: Keeping water clear in a Jobo processor
I found over the years that the best way of keeping the water clear is to drain the water tanks after use. It is easy with the smaller processors like the Jobo however if the water tanks are emptied on larger machines it can cause the adjacent tanks to split and leak. Thin household bleach in very s...

Re: manfrotto 410 junior geared head, thoughts?
I recently purchased a used Manfrotto 400 geared head and have just had a chance to mount on my tripod and test it out with my 10 x 8 Deardorff. The head is rather heavy, now my tripod (Berlebach 3042) and head combination is a shade under 7Kg. I will be needing a powered cart to trek the thing arou...

Re: Printer economics - have I got this right?
The HP Photosmart Pro 9180 is a very good printer unfortunately it suffers from bad software. I have never managed to print a PDF file from mine from within Acrobat I have to print it through Photoshop. Word refuses to use the special media tray and other odd niggles. Cartridges range from £18.00 to...

Re: Macro on 4x5
I haven't tried this myself as yet... I have seen suggested on the LFF USA that you can purchase a 'Tominon' lens as fitted to some Polaroid camera. These are available in 105mm and 75mm although they will not cover 5 x 4 at infinity at closer than 1:1 they will cover, There is also a post on the LF...

Start saving now for an adapter to fit the lens to a panel. I hope that the rear glass has not yellowed too much.

Re: Advice on Manfrotto 410 head
I have been following this thread with interest as I want to purchase a geared head. I thought about the Manfrotto 410 but almost decided on the 405 as the load capacity was larger. However from what has been said on this thread it seems that the construction of both 405 and 410 are very similar. Ca...

Shanghai and Lucky Film
Hi - I have been given (unopened) 50 sheets of this stuff along with a few opened boxes of other film. Has anyone got any details of its reciprocity curve? - It may possibly be on a leaflet in the box but its in the freezer.... Also I have noticed boxes of "Lucky" 10 x 8 film on the auction site at ...

Re: Film Holders
Most of the 5 x 7 holders he has recently obtained are for the continental size 13 x 18 as you state, but he has got at least 4 that are proper 5 x 7 which is really the reason for my post as I recall someone asking (somewhere?) recently for this size. I don't think that any new film holders can be ...

how do you store your lenses?
Recently I have started to evaluate my small collection of barrel lenses. The lenses I use frequently are kept in the case with their respective camera on lensboards But the other lenses I use less frequently are just stored in a cardboard box wrapped in bubble wrap without lensboards. Can anyone le...

Want to dispose of a densitometer
I have a Macbeth Densitometer to dispose of. The model number is TD 500 (transmission only) it has a needle readout. There is no calibration negative or instructions with it. I haven't used it since it was given to me three years ago. I don't know how accurate it is so there is no guarantee it works...
