Re: The way this Board is run

"there is no desire to change the UKLFPG Webiste" Not sure you're right at all. It's been mentioned already that this website will change, the non Furum part will be cleaned up, it's 4 years out of date. The website has changed in many ways since it's founding people have come and gone and the site...

Re: which black and white film?

Since we met up Alan I've used a lot of Fomapan 100 & 200 in both 120 and 5x4, I was never a fan of fast films prefering to shoot LF with a slow film. These films are excellent but require less development than other makes to tame their inherrent contrast. However I had to move to HP5 for some of my...

Re: The way this Board is run

Re: DJ's post above, It's good to see that common sense prevails and that opinions of all colours are welcome. I value Ian's contribution to this (and other) sites where his knowledge of alternative processes would be sorely missed if the ultimate forum sanction were applied. Please lets all calm d...

Re: The way this Board is run

Ian why don't you simply start your own LF group? You can then manage it to your heart's content. For the sanity of the group I would suggest you take this path as you clearly do not fit into the mindset of the majority and certainly the founding ethos of this group. If you decide otherwise I would...

Re: The way this Board is run

Ian, having spent some time trawling through your various postings it is clear that you are very unhappy with this forum and the competencies/vision of those individuals who volunteered their time and effort to maintain this resource. I do feel that you've missed the whole point of this website ......

Re: The way this Board is run

. As far as "developing" the website I would argue this point - we should be developing the workshop side of the group?? We have over 700 mebers yet I remember the same (very)few faces who could be bothered to meet up at locations all over the UK. This lack of interest was the driving force behind ...

Re: The way this Board is run

...if anyone can tell me how QT pays for the hosting costs, I'd be very interested... Server space is donated by Brian Reid. See this page: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/credits.html Ironically I could donate free server space, no bandwidth issues, no space issues, more databases etc etc. ...

Re: Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Grap

Just for clarity you said "Would you object to me moving it to the Classifieds section," now it's in a Services section. That's better. I note your comment about lack of traffic but when suggestions are made to improve the forum as a whole they are ignored by certain moderators/admins. An example wh...

Re: Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Grap

This isn't the best approach.

As I said before a Classic/Vintage camera and lens section would be more appropriate.

Re: Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Grap

Not sure that the Classifieds is the right place either. It's more about people being aware I maybe able to help them out, and I don't do it for a profit it's a spin off from my own restoration work. Now if there was a Classic/Vintage camera & Lens section that would be appropriate, and there are qu...

Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Graphic

If anyone is interested I'm making a batch of shutter curtains for some US camera restorers for Pacemaker Speed Graphics, these fit the MPP MicroPress as well - it's a Pacemaker Speed in disguise after all :D Also a curtain for a Graflex D (reflex camera. Other curtains can be supplied if you have t...

Re: What is this camera

It's a dog of a camera, leave alone. The extension back is something used on early British tailboard cameras, although Watson kept making them into the late 1950's and Gandolfi a bit longer :D Linhof and MPP used similar. I've been using a 65mm SA on a Wista for over 20 years, there's a knack but it...

Re: The way this Board is run

To be frank, I'm getting increasingly irritated by this discussion. So far all people are doing is defending positions with nothing positive being discussed. Either make some positive suggestions showing clear benefits or accept that the status quo isn't set to change anytime soon. Positive suggest...

Maybe East of Bham so easy access from M1 North & South, and M50, will have a think. Suggestions welcome.

Re: help

Depending on the date, I could drag myself up to a midlands meet. Neil Dates to suit you and others like Tony etc, we could maybe have a day out in the Peak District. It's an hour for Tony and myself and not too bad from you either as the roads are quite good :D Maybe the 2nd weekend in November ? ...
