Re: The way this Board is run

There's a need for change and complacency from one or two admin/moderators and their answers reflect thus. Very small changes would have huge benefits and people bury their heads in Morecambe or is it Southport sands instead. It's time criticisms were listened to and acted on instaed of poosting lam...

Re: The way this Board is run

It does matter when the way the site's mrun is adversely affecting it's potential. Ian OK, I'm just going to make my one comment. I don't think the software engine running the UKLFPG matters one little bit. What matters is that it facilitates the bringing together of a comminity of like-minded indiv...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

There's a mini workshop planned in the Midlands next month so pop along. There will be a very wide range of 5x4 cameras available to try first hand - from Speed Graphics to Monorails, Wooden Field cameras to metal technical cameras. I wouldn't worry about Quickloads they were never mainstream and ca...

Re: The way this Board is run

Ian from one of the Norther Clique In case you didn't read Charles's final post on the 'Board at risk' thread, for the past 5 years I have been posting from Somerset, relocating to Cumbria at the beginning of September this year. I am flattered however to be considered a Northerner, even though the...

Re: The way this Board is run

DJ etc The Forum software shows a last update date as 2007, that may be that its and old version 2x with some updates rather than being the latest version 3.09. Maybe you do need to look at alternatives. The bandwidth issue needs addressing lame excuses of it being free etc don't make sense, maybe i...

Re: help

OK lets set up a mini workshop for November then discuss a more serious and intense one at a venue with accomadation over a weekend. I'll provide a variety of alternative cameras and lenses from Speed Graphics to monorails, field and technical cameras as well as smaller & larger (10x8) lf cameras. I...

The way this Board is run

There needs to be a serious overhaul of this board. The software itself is 4 years out of date , open discussion of Moderator issues is censored, theres no clear delineation between Admin functions and Moderation so some Moderators post with full Admin status giving undue Red high lighting to mundan...

Re: help

You can pop down to Worcestershire if you want, I've been shooting LF since 1976 with a very wide variety of cameras and lenses. Your 90 mins away approx.

There's another member in Essex who'd like some help so maybe we can set up something for you both fairly soon.

They aren't my lenses Andrew, not sure how much the seller wants either, he leaves unpriced until he's sure of the value. . . . . . . . . . .

Re: meetings

Paul, you can pop over any time for a session out in the landscape with the Wista, I've had mine about 25 years now. I suspect you'll be away when we have a Midlands get together.

Re: Enlarger Lamps 75Watt 150Watt. Original Ones

No luick in the loft storage Ray, they were all Photofloods :D However I was sure I had one and there's a 150w ES on my darkroom shelf, doesn't fit any of my enlargers - all colour heads or take small bulbs - my Gnome uses a 12 volt car headlight (very old style). So let me know where you want it se...

Re: Lancaster Rectigraph values

Thanks Susie

In this patricular case the lack of the flanges makes them unattractive as user lenses, although I have 2 large TP shutters that would match them.

Re: How to reclaim VAT & import duty on item returned to US

I found the Customs people very helpful when I was charged VAT on a VAT exemt item (the senders fault) and the two people I dealt with were quick to redress the situation once I'd faxed fulldetails of the item. There should have been a note when you recieved the item giving contact details etc and w...
