Re: Lens for a MPP
Hi Nick, Just to add to the good advice already given, if you go for a Schneider lens, make sure you get a Super Angulon 90mm f/8 (or f/5.6 if your pocket runs to it) and not the earlier Angulon 90mm f/6.8. The earlier lens is okay, but not nearly as good as the Super Angulon. And yes, you will nee...

Re: Lens for a MPP
On 90mms just avoid the very early super angulons in 00 shutters, you're best sticking with a 0 shutter. Have to agree, the 00 Compur is an akward shutter to use my 65mm SA is in one :'( , there's no preview lever and no T setting, you need a locking cable release. It's a pain having to set the shu...

Re: Lens for a MPP
You won't go far wrong with any 90mm f8 from schneider, fuji or nikon. Add to that a 150mm and the combination works well. I tended to use 28,, & 50mm with 35mm, 45mm & 80mm with my 645 and find that 90mm/150mm combination accounts for 98% of my LF images. I do use a 65mm f8 SA ocassionally and a 2...

Re: FS: MPP 5x4 Darkslides
Hi Paul, You should get some takers for these as they are the Bee's Knees for those doing 5x4 wetplate, that is assuming they are the ones for glass plates, but also have the septum for film! Susie It's important to know whether they are true International fit in terms of register or not, unfortuna...

Re: WTB. Recessed lens board for Cambo/Calumet 4X5.
You need to specify which Cambo as there's at least 2 possibly 3 different Cambo types and they don't fit every camera.

Re: Scheimpflug and another question
Valerio, when I teach using swings and tilts I get people to practice with extremes, it's a remarkably fast way to learn. What you then realise is how quick it is to set up, there's no reason why someone can't setup an LF camera in close to the same time as a tripod mounted 35mm or 120 camera. How l...

It's definitely worth going. The museum's small but very good and the house and grounds outstanding as is the village itself. Parkings free in the village and closer

Re: WTB Zeiss 21cm/4.5 Tessar in shutter
I've a few LF Tessar's and over 150mmm they aren't so common shutter mounted. 210's do appear ocassionally but not very often. So good luck, you'd be better posting on thev US/International LF Forum. (That's where one of the mderators here posts frwquently).

Re: FS: Horseman graflock frame - suitable for DIY project?
Hi Dave, does it have the GG frame with it? I am looking for something to replace the revolving back on my Arca and this would fit a spare lens panel I have perfectly if the GG is intact. Cheers Gari It's possible the GG frame from the Arca might fit, but I wouldn't guarantee it, I have a Super Gra...

I just bought two from Heavystar for £25.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200630548373&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123#ht_500wt_1156 Cheers Ian! It was bad luck he didn't have his discount offer for 3 drilled boards, still a good price though and cheaper than many second hand...

Re: The possibilities for creating new forums on here
Tony, the Red highlighting is trivial however because it's the norm here for the 3 ? admins there's nothing to distinguish their run of the mill posts from genuine Admin announcements. No that's not critical it might just be useful. Unfortunately a large number of posts were deleted from another thr...

Re: The possibilities for creating new forums on here
A point is being missed here, the specific highlghting of an Admin posters name in Bold red with this Forum software is deliberate to give all Admin posts importance. It's not typical to use an Admin login to post normally or moderate, the admin function is often kept separate. Other boards have bee...

Re: The possibilities for creating new forums on here
The simple solution is that the Admin role be separated from normal postings by creating a separate Acccount and login. I see that heavy handed censorship's been taking place today. So it's alright to use subterfuge to buy items on this forum at bargain prices and then sell them shortly after for mu...

Re: Kodak 2d 13x18 cm
Hi Alex A Whole plate camera takes film/plates 8.5"x6.5", approx 21.5cm x 15cm. So the advantage of your camera is it would be dual format if someone added a Whole plate back. I'm in house restoration mode and no spare cash or I'd buy this camera myself as it's a real bargain at that price :D Ian
