Re: Friday 13th from HELL!!!!!
Fuji has indeed confirmed this. Have a look at: http://www.bjp-online.com/british-journal-of-photography/news/2193030/fujifilm-discontinues-two-professional-films I've only used a couple of MF rolls of Velvia 50 in the past. Very fine grained, nice contrast but way to saturated for my taste. Neverth...

Re: A suitable printer
Hi Charles. Recently, I've needed positives for the gravure process. I did some on my LF printer and for comparison searched around for image setters and came across http://www.positivityltd.co.uk I had a sample output by them and it was perfect. Upload a file and they'll send back your positive or ...

Re: Archiving 5x7 film
I've always used Secol for filing film. Might be worth a look at: http://www.secol.co.uk/POCKETS.SHTML

WTS: Yankee 4x5 dev tank
My Yankee tank has been sitting on the shelf for quite a time (since I got a Jobo plus a couple of sheet film holders). I don't need both so Yankee is up for £20+postage or collection from Lancashire. It is in perfect condition and will process up to 12 sheets at a time.

Re: Photogravure
Thanks for the suggestion, Fourtoes. I've been in touch with John Brewer who pointed me in that direction. I'm only 40mins from Hot Bed and that would be ideal. Whatever the outcome, I'll get there (photogravure, that is!). And thanks to a forum that can deliver responses about processes that are so...

Photogravure
Is there anywhere in the North offering tuition in photogravure? SpikePrint in Bristol offers it and I'd be prepared to go there in extremis. Any suggestions?

Re: Books on developing negs
There's a lot to be said for Neil Barnes' suggestion - but a lot to be said for fine tuning too, as he implies. I have (somewhere) a book titled Ilford Monochrome Darkroom Practice by Jack H Coote. Well worth a look if you can Google a second hand copy. If I remember correctly it was published by Fo...

Re: Home Processing
Scott, I agree with Dennis. A changing bag, a Paterson 3-reel tank + reels for 120 and a MOD54 film holder for the sheet film should get you up and running relatively inexpensively. The Paterson bits and bobs can be picked up for very little; the sheet film holder costs around £40. Hope that helps. ...

WTS: Deep bath film/paper processor
I'm slowly but surely offloading kit that is surplus to requirements. I have a deep tank processor that can be used for both paper and film development. This model was latterly made by Fletchers but mine is a little earlier and was the original of its type. It consists of a water bath approx 1ft in ...

HI Matt. Some years since ~I used Kentmere for that purpose but I seem to remember 6ASA was a starting point. I was using their document art paper at the time. Good luck.

Re: Contact printing frame
You could track down a Paterson or similar and replace the original glass with a piece of perspex (or glass). Most sign-makers would be happy to cut a piece to size for you and finish the edges.

Re: Waste disposal
Hi all. Some years ago when I was using more BW chemics than now (processing 40-50 rolls per week plus 20-30 5x4 I contacted the local council to ask how to dispose. The volumes I was using didn't warrant silver recovery. The answer was simple - 'put it down the drain, those quantities won't have an...

Epson V750
Hi all. There's been plenty discussion about flatbed v. drum scanners. From time to time I have drum scans done when funds allow and for LARGE prints there's a difference. (Don't want to wade into that debate). I have an Epson V750 and until recently I was happy enough with output via Silverfast. I ...
