Robert White's prices always were higher than most , now... they're just ridiculous. I have to wonder at the sense of businesses increasing their prices in this way to compensate for falling sales... if people aren't buying at the old prices, they're not going to at the new ones.. and yes I realise...

I should have bought the camera last July when I was first thinking of doing so, instead of buying secondhand lenses. I did not expect the price to rise so dramatically, so I only have myself to blame. The moral: use savings to buy early and save later on!

Robert White's prices for Ebony cameras and accessories increased a couple of months ago, just after I ordered my camera ( ) when Sterling had fallen in value unfavourably! When I ordered the camera it was £2550 neggers VAT. Two weeks later it had gone up £1000! The increases in the pri...

I find myself agreeing with Paul O (even though I'm still awaiting delivery of my new 45SU ). I spent a long time agonising about the most suitable LF camera but knew I wanted something more refined and versatile than my old MPP Mk V. The things that attracted me to the 45SU were its range of...

:D Meget godt! :P Sounds like what I think when I see a pinhole photograph… It means very good or excellent. The last time I used a pinhole camera was a device called a Ground Zero Indicator during the Cold War! It was shaped like a large white bread-bin with four holes at 90 deg intervals an...

I am awaiting a second reply as I have asked about the suitability of the HI-LUX Ultra Brilliant Matte 4.7 screen as my universal screen for both Macro and ordinary photographic uses with my lenses ranging from the Schneider 58XL through to the Nikon 300mm/f8. I will post that reply here once recei...

I use one of the small hand punches to emboss my books. They are easy to use and the results are impressive. If you scan your prints in and use photoshop you can of course add an embossing layer. There was recent discussion about this in the RPS's periodical earlier this year. You might want to cont...

Thanks for the info - it maybe saves me a phone call if I get round to affording a screen (by which time the price will probably have altered.) It's answered one query - Bill can supply a solution for the Ebony asymmetric markings as I didn't really fancy pencilling my own on to a screen / glass. I...

Hi all thanks for the replies and advice. Now on the look out for 90mm classic, shame really as the reason I bought the ebony was for its wide range of usable focal lengths, the 72mm fitted, so presumed the 90mm would have (presumption ahh!!). Will use the 90mm on the Sinar for the time bein...

.... I did compose on the ground glass screen (upside down & back to front) So, to use a 'small' camera, you had to stand on your head, facing the wrong way ???  ... now grasping at straws trying to justify my use of medium format  Well, we did state that LF starts at 100 sq.cm. s...
