It's been up for about a month now. What took you so long?
Actually, I have to say the site is very slick and very professional-looking and a credit to both David's photography and your web design skills. Nice one!

On a related note, has anyone seen what Fujifilm has been getting up to recently?

Re: My first comparison
Some of the results of this process are currently posted at :- http://www.flickr.com/photos/timparkin/2226597863/ I shall try to expand on this with some more commentary on my blog in the next week (http://blog.timparkin.co.uk). Tim Interesting and informative comparison. I'm surprised an Epson-sca...

I'm curious as to why you think it's dodgy. Care to share your thoughts on this?PAUL O wrote:There is an Ebony SV45TE for auction on Ebay at the moment ....

and I can put you in touch with many satisfied customers to talk to.. No need! There's one right here. :) There's a lot to recommend with Light&Land - locations are well-researched and you get to go to places you probably would never find out about, had you gone on a 'normal' holiday. You also get ...

I've been hearing some good things about Feisol CF tripods. They're built in China but don't let that put you off. They're nearly as good as gitzos and a lot cheaper... But don't take my word for it. This is what people are saying in the 'other' LF forum: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum...

Re: Travels with camera
Has anyone had experience of taking a camera bag on board a plane since the new restrictions came in. seems all restrictions are to do with liquids and gells or am I being naive. bag size limit is 22x18x10in I see that. :? I flew last week with my Ebony in my carry-on and everything else in my Lowe...

I flew to Las Vegas via Atlanta last year with my Ebony + lightest lens + film as hand lugage and everything else in a LowePro Pro Trekker, padded out with clothes and then put into a larger bag with tripod and further padded with clothes. Also took my MF gear in a Mini Trekker in a smaller bag with...

Joanna, is it really worth getting profiles made for different film-types? I was under the impresion that the point of profiling your scanner is to correct for defects introduced by the scanner itself. Surely profiling for a specific film and the scanner would be counter-productive, or am I missing ...

I went the same route as Paul - Ebony RSW45. It lacks all but the most basic of movements (front rise/fall and front tilt only) but what you do have is enough for most situations. That said, back tilt would be nice. The main advantages of this minimalist approach are weight-saving and simplicity - i...

The real stand-out for me is the first Elgol pic. This is landscape photography pared down to its essentials and all the better for it. Awesome work! I liked the second Elgol shot for the quality of light - the texture of the rock is particularly lovely. I think it might have been worth waiting for ...

Thanks Chong! All the comments have been interesting and useful. I don't always use a polariser where water is involved - it depends on what effect I'm going for. In this case, it emphasised the flow of the water without distracting specular highlights. As regards filter compensation, I take my mete...

Chong, I often check out a scene with a polariser before taking the shot to see if there's any benefit. In this case, it brought out the colours better and eliminated a lot of glare from the water. Joanna's suggestion regarding Astia sounds quite interesting. I tend to stick with Velvia 100 (or 50 a...

Thanks Chong for the useful critique. I still have a lot to learn about spot-metering, that's certain! I am now kicking myself for not thinking of using a grad in the field as I'm sure that it would have made all the difference to the shadow detail. I guess I'm still in the mindset of only using gra...
