The film is ADOX CHS25. To be honest, it lacks contrast. Although the branches of this tree were 2/3 of a stop brighter than the background, I still had to ramp up the contrast in Photoshop by a LOT (+50 or something...). But it is a 25ASA film with loads of detail. Can't wait for a Delta25! Is Ilfo...

I think the area is a long way for anyone south of Manchester-Leeds. I may be worth being flexible and seeing how many people can come that far. We may need to set a quorum on this one, ie a min number as well as a max number of participants...? For most folk it will be a matter of taking time off w...

Paul, I am delighted to read you are at last questioning the significance of stroking one's Ebony. Mind you, I am due to take delivery of a re-bellowed Toyo45A (should be pleats + bag hybrid bellows but haven't seen it yet), which could make me go very maternal... Steve H: what do you mean by privac...

War of the parallel worlds

The present website is rather garish and it seems some folk are having trouble navigating it. So, with help from Paul O, I have a new design. Take a look at http://www.lf-photo.org.uk/home2.htm . Let me know if you prefer it. If the majority response is negative or don't care, then I'll leave the ex...

I agree: I don't need money for my time as the job is its own reward. When it becomes a chore, I'll throw the towel in.

We need to decide on a name for our group before this intro gets sent off. Paul, any chance you can set up a poll soon? Could we not also consider names without any reference to society or LF, etc - something like "Bellows" (presumably with a snappy slogan like "Forging ahead" )? I am sure th...

In Northumberland, colour was starting to change and that was the 15th of October. In Wales the strongest colour is around the end of the month/early November, I seem to recall. However one is taking chances with the weather by then.

I like the idea of being cast out and sent to a wilderness: do I get a plentiful supply of film?? More seriously: if Jo and Marc are out of pocket, could they let us know by how much? I am confident the honest folk on this list will make sure they are not of pocket for long (total debt divided by nu...

Some of your sponsorships idea sound fine, and it would be nice to recover our admin costs. So I am generally in favour. My concern with generating money for the group (as opposed to getting a straight discount), is that we end up with more money than we need. What do we do with the profit? Who deci...

locations

It's a question of considering where the sun rises and sets too. The Dorset coast was mentioned a couple times for the April outing, but the sun rises and sets over the channel during the winter months only. Ditto the Gower, which I plan to visit in November. Coastal locations also need the tides to...

I agree that something posher than Forum would be nice. My main concern is all the bureaucratic aspect. I like Society and its olde worlde connotations that match our approach. Are there any requirements that we register a society, then have a president, secretary and treasurer, etc.? The other aspe...
