The Blackburn Project

Post by Bob Singleton » Thu Jun 05, 2008 10:05 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I posted in the new members section a short while ago about my Degree project. It was quite a short project, only a few weeks shooting, but I got though 2 boxes of film and came to love/hate carrying a Sinar F2 on location and it is now completed.

I know some of you live in the North West and you may be interested in seeing the results. It is being exhibited in the ELIHE Degree show from 18 June to 2 July.

I have written about this project in my blog and scans of the photos are there along with links to some of my digital stuff (if I am allowed to say that word here)

The scans are just that the negs were put in the scanner and I let it do its thing - they have are not been tweaked in PS for best screen presentation. The fibre based prints are a different thing entirely so if you can get along. I am showing a selection enlarged and the full set about 40 as contact prints and would welcome your comments.

The address is ELIHE Blackburn College Duke Street Blackburn. For those of you who know the area it is the grey building which used to house BT.

There is a Private view at 6pm on 18 June and if you introduce your self to me there will be free drink(s).

Mine is the only LF stuff in the show but there are 2 more students showing MF work.

Over in the Foundation degree show in the other building I think on of the students will be showing some LF portraiture.

Hi Bob

That sounds interesting, we will try to get over if I am in the country on the 18th, although 6pm could be a little difficult. How long will the viewing be open ?
