The latest workshop in Saltburn was quite a success. The users of Victorian cameras, lenses and processes have created a large number of glass plates, tintypes and prints which are now going to be displayed for the month of July at the Arts Bank in Saltburn. To kick the exhibition off, there will be a FREE hands-on demonstration of the wet plate process by John Brewer on the 2nd of July from 2 to 5pm. Send me a pm if you want to attend as spaces are limited. And in the evening John will give a talk on the wonderful qualities of being out of date, ie everything you wanted to know about his philosophy of using antiquated techniques. The talk costs £2 to get in. Tickets are available from the Arts Bank; call them on 01287 625 300.

It's the 12th, is it? I thought it was the 19th. Thanks for the heads-up. I have made sure that press releases appeared in a few places: North-East Life also have a double-page spread in their latest issue for anybody in the NE.
Well, the weekend is over and as the week starts, I can take a rest. The workshops and talk were well attended with almost 30 people turning up. A lot of excellent feedback. Thanks a lot to all those who helped with the workshops (John B obviously and also Dave P and the indefatigable Mrs T). Thanks also to Tony and Marizu for coming over from Manchester and Graham from Darlington to be there for the exhibition opening. Great weather, great crack.
The show runs until the end of the month at the Arts Bank (not the Ars Pank, Mr FiveToes ).
