Tetenal E6 Kit

Hi all. I have a Tetenal 3 bath E6 Kit arriving tomorrow as the Fuji 3 bath kit is now no longer . What I would like to know is, are the solution mixes and dev/fix times the same. I have been going by the Parkin method (cheers Tim) and it would be handy to stick with it as I have rather a lot of film to process.

Hi Sean

I used the 3 bath Tetanol E6 before I found a supplier of the Fuji Hunt chemicals. It works exactly the same, pay attention to the pH in the same way and colours will be fine. E6 is a standardised process as far as I can recall, so trust the manufacturer to get it right with their R&D.

Having said that, I wouldn't be loading the tank up first time with 12, or even 6 images which were precious!

Hey Sean,

I use the same dev times as per the Fuji hunt E6 process. For rotary processing Tetenal recommend 7 minutes for the 1st dev but after talking to PaulD he said his were coming out slightly overexposed so I dropped the 1st dev to 6 minutes 30". All the ones I have done have come out fine at these timings.

This is all good info guys, I too will be switching to these kits once my current batch of fuji has gone.

P.s. do these kits come with stabiliser/ formaldehyde?

Mine came with stabiliser.

You get the same type of chemicals as the Fuji kit:

• First Dev
• Colour Dev
• Blix
• Stab

Just watch the mixing quantities for the colour dev parts as it's different for the Fuji kit.

This is my plan using 250ml solutions:

first dev: 50ml dev/200ml water for 6.5 min
colour dev: 60ml part A, 40ml part B 150ml water for 7 min
blix:50ml part A, 50ml part B 150ml water for 7 min
stab:10ml stab 240ml water

Please let me know if I'm way off course

Looks good, here are the solutions and timings I used and I've highlighted the differences:

1st Developer: 50ml 1st developer + 200ml water @ 6.5 min
Colour Developer: 50ml developer Part 1 + 30ml developer Part 2 + 170ml water @ 6 min
Bleach Fix: 50ml bleach fix Part 1 + 50ml bleach fix Part 2 + 150ml water @ 6 min
Stabiliser: 10ml stabiliser + 240ml water

Oh yes, I do have a word/pdf document covering the following processes:

• Tetenal E6 -250ml
• Tetenal C41 -250ml
• B&W Rotary - 250ml
• B&W Hand inversion - 300 and 600 ml

It lists the amount of chemicals required and timings. Timings cover both chemical and washes, drop me a PM if you would like a copy.
