Large Format Bellows Replacement

Post by sandeha » Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:07 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Over the past two years I have been making replacement bellows for Agfa Isolette and Record cameras and for a range of Large Format cameras as well - primarily the older types of tailboard, folding-field and technical cameras. The price for 4x5 and quarter plate is £100, 5x7 and half plate £120, whole plate £140, 8x10 £160, and 10x12 £180, plus insured postage.

As I tend to work mostly in a studio setting with lights, I use a coated fabric that is 100% light proof to a flash gun. If coloured bellows are required (Bright Red and Royal Blue have been the most popular!) the lightproof layer is on the underside. The completed bellows are usually about the same thickness as the original.

Details and examples here: http://www.sandehalynch.com/isolette.htm

As there is such a a wide variety of shapes and sizes among the older wooden cameras I would need to have the original bellows in order to make a copy. However, if you only have the frames I can design a new set according to the extension required.
