LF journal

Post by Charles Twist » Tue Sep 19, 2006 6:27 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

In an effort to raise our profile and attract new faces, the UKLFPG has written an article which is now published in the Large Format Journal, a UK based magazine dedicated to our favourite cameras. For more information, visit http://www.thelargeformatjournal.com/ . I am hoping that Jo and/or Paul will have the chance to take a CD of the latest issue with them to Glencoe, for all to peruse. Personally, I thought there was some good stuff in the latest issue.
Just to let you know.
If anybody has further ideas on how to publicise our group and the participants, please speak up.
Bye for now,
Charles

I see one of the demo pages you can view without subscription shows the start of the article. I've now paid for this issue and am currenly downloading the 80 MB version to read, think it was about £2.70.

Does anyone on this list know the people behind the LF Journal personally? I paid for the summer issue via PayPal nearly one week ago and have also sent several emails asking for them to honor their promise to send a password to unlock the file. Unfortunately all I have found to date is silence.

Is it possible they have gone quietly out of business?
Or are they simply on an extended holiday?

Any ideas appreciated.

Michael

I'm afraid I don't know anyone at the LF Journal. However I paid for a six issue (I think) subscription, and when the last volume was issued I did not receive a password. It took two emails and two weeks to get a positive response. Maybe they are just slow?

Hi folks. Even when we were trying to get the article sorted out, the guy who does the journal was very difficult to communicate with. I, for one am looking forward to what MagnaChrom can do for us.

FWIW, the chap we were dealing with - Ray Heaton - was unwell at the time he was putting the summer issue together, which delayed things. He also had the problem that he worked (works?) 150 miles away from where the LF journal is put together, so he is finding it hard to get the time to fulfill all the clerical jobs. I have found that patience and persistence work. If you are really stuck for the summer edition, Michael (MagnaChrom), you can drop me a PM and I'll help you out.
