Self activation test

Post by masch » Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:55 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Dear All,

we decided to try and give self activation of forum access a try.

In recent weeks we have seen a torrent of bogus attempts at registration. In an attempt to curb this, we will let people self activate, and iof they don't do this within a week or so, we will delete the account. The problem is keeping track of legit and bogus registrations, and unfortunately, we appear to have killed one or two innocent registrations in the process.....

Our apologies to the innocent victims, and if you ever meet a linkspammer, please hit him/her over the head with a very large wooden tripod from me. :)
