Hi folks, great news!

Mike Walker has agreed to join our list of sponsors.

And, to celebrate, he has made the offer that, for the whole of December 2008 and January 2009, he will give a discount of 10% off any cameras ordered - and - 5% off any Schneider or Rodenstock lenses ordered.

How about that for a Christmas present ?

Can you clarify the form of this Sponsorship.

Forgive me for being naive but it appears to be a free advert as a Sponsor, and a minimal discount of a new camera.

On other sites Sponsors pay towards the hosting costs etc.

Hi Ian

We have always listed companies as sponsors if they give us favourable terms on their products.

The idea is that we help them to stay in business by extending the reach of their advertising, in exchange for a discount for those attending a workshop or, as with Mike, for a limited period.

We do not expect suppliers to give these discounts continuously as we would not want such arrangements to undermine retailers who also need to make a living.
