Ageing of Velvia 50

I have just used a few 120 rolls of older (probably original) Velvia 50. They have all come back about 1 stop under-exposed. Newer Velvia 100F shot at the same time doesn't present the same problem. I am quite certain it's not reciprocity failure and not a mistake on my part with setting the shutter. Does anybody know whether Velvia loses its sensitivity over time?
Best regards,
Charles

Hi Charles

Are you rating it at 50? Usually, I would rate original Velvia at 32 (and always have), but I haven't seen it get any worse over time. I appreciate that 1/2 a stop is probably a smaller underexposure than you are experiencing though.

Paul

Hello Paul,
Yes I allow 1/3 stop for my metering which seems systematically optimistic and another 1/3 for V50. These rolls are dark.
I'll do some more testing taking note of batches.
Thanks,
Charles
