Hi Paul, that sounds like a good system but feels counter intuitive to me. I would have expected exposed to have the band vertically to make sure that it couldnt be opened again until safely esconced in darkroom. Do you use 2 bands, 1 for each side ?

Not LF, but in the 80s while living on a Scottish island we (tripod carrying wife & self) arose very early with the idea of walking across a couple of miles of moor to get a sunrise shot over the sea toward Mull. Took several excellent shots, or so I thought until getting back home & finding I'd taken the black & white back rather than colour. Wife went on a bit about that. Dennis.

I use a "foolproof" method of identifying loaded film holders using rubber bands:
1. If holder is loaded but film unexposed then rubber band is stretched vertically around holder (locking darkslides in place);
2. If the holder has film that has been exposed then the rubber band is stretched horizontally around the holder;
3. If holder is empty then the rubber band is removed.

In fact. I'm thinking of marketing the system by writing "Ebony" on the rubber band and selling them for a small fortune

Will they have that lovely Ebony-wood finish or be black with Ebony in silver letters?
