Not quite the end of a perfect day

Post by Joanna Carter » Sat Feb 03, 2007 8:23 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

As I sit here, by the light of a paraffin lamp, using my mobile phone to connect to the internet, I just thought I would reflect on what should have been a good day for making photographs.

We started out this morning going over to one of our favourite haunts on the western edge of Yorkshire, where we actually managed to make two images (hopefully). Returning to our customary tea shop, we discovered that they were in the middle of a power cut and only just managed to get a scone and cup of coffee, made with the last of the hot water in the heater.

Never mind, we would see if there was another shot on the way home... until we went out of the tea shop to find the fog had descended :( Nevertheless, we drove home anticipating a welcome hot drink and to cook our evening meal... only to find, we too, were (are) having a power cut of our very own

Never mind, Jo. I suffered from bright sun and blue skies all day on the Somerset Levels. Despite this I managed to shoot 5 sheets before lunchtime. Unfortunately there were no tea shops, so at that point I expired from hunger.

We had sunshine for most of the day over in the west of Yorkshire, it was only at the end that the fog fell.

Anyway, the lights are back on now, so we consoled ourselves with a bowl of hot soup. I hope you have now managed to assuage your hunger and develop those lovely shots for us all to see :P

Not that quick off the mark with these I'm afraid - mostly shooting trannies. Added to that today was spent in 'Snowdrop Valley' on Exmoor, so a big pile to send off to Peak tomorrow. Let's just hope I got the exposures right!
