Joanna,
They didn't list a price for USPS on the VC Store website so I thought I'd check Fred Newman's eBay store to see if it was there - that's where I found out about the changes that came into force on 14/5/07 if you follow the links...
Look down the Ebay page for a focussing hood and then say that the delivery country is to the UK - no shipping cost now given but strangely, there is for other stuff, e.g. step wedges
I'll have to give him a shout at some point and see if there's a way.
Andrew

From what I can see, it is simply that USPS have changed their tariffs and therefore web sites may not be updated yet. I would guess that contact with Fred should elicit a cost for shipping using Express Mail International, which would seem to be the new name for Global Express Mail.

I spoke to Fred last night and they've no problem with the postage to UK via USPS - the system's in turmoil at the moment after the Postal Service changes - I've managed to get all my stuff plus a few extras thrown in for $36 postage
It'll offset some of the cost of the phone call to the States...
When we talked about film tests, straight out he mentioned using 1:6 rather that 1:4 and I'm also being sent some of the BZTS articles / newsletters regarding extreme exposure etc.
The material for the hoods has changed so it's now a white outside rather than silver - may need to roll it round the garden to take some of the brightness off it
