Manfrotto 410 Geared Head

Post by Paul Arthur » Mon Jul 13, 2009 4:53 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hi everyone

I've recently returned from a very wet trip to Gower and am having problems with my 410 geared head and wondered if anyone had any solutions?

The brass sprung pin that pops up when the quick release plate is off has stuck down, making attaching the quick release plate to the head a hassle. Anyone else had this happen or can anyone offer up any advice?

Many Thanks

Paul

What quick release have you got fitted? If its the RC2 type (actually its porbably the same on the RC$ type) then there's a small allen-key bolt under the main latch, I would imagine that taking this off removes the main latch and should give you access to the brass pin. You might have to replace a spring or just re-seat the existing spring.
