Cecil Beaton Exhibition Liverpool

Post by Marizu » Mon Jul 06, 2009 5:08 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Sorry that I haven't got round to introducing myself in the New Members section but I just found out that there is an exhibition of Cecil Beaton's work in the Walker Gallery in Liverpool until August 31st 2009.
I haven't managed to get over to see it yet but it does contain some of his pre-1940's work which would have been shot on large format.

Maybe this is of interest to some of you.

I popped over to Liverpool on Sunday to take a look at this exhibition.
There are many striking portraits on display including some contact prints from his 10x8 negs.
These 10x8 contacts included Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, a self portrait with a view camera from 1951 and the beautiful Symphony in Silver featuring Baba Beaton in 1925.
