Where do you buy Lodima paper? and 8x10 print tubes?

thanks
Bip
As already said Lodima can only be purchased from Michael and Paula. It's their own Contact printing paper and the range of tones is awesome. They were planning to ship orders from their last production around about now. You can order from their website. Print tubes can be found ebay easily. I have a Jobo rotatry tank that can take 5 8x10 that I will be looking to sell soon... ;-)

I've had to rationalise and the 8x10 has gone. Still have the 5x4 but it does rather feel like a toy now...

Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks for the pointers chaps, I had no idea there were such large format retailers out there.

Mmm... so nobody is dissuading from going large-r.

I'll be keeping an eye out for what available over the coming months as I'm in no rush to buy something.

Thanks for the comments.

Heard my name mentioned :D

I shoot 10x8 & 5x4 but it's just not practical for me at present to use one of my 10x8 cameras here in Turkey, mainly because often I shoot where tripods aren't permitted and work with a hand held 5x4 camera (Crown Graphic). However one of the projects I'm working on may well open doors for me. A second issue is I laways fly and a 10x8 is too much when I'm always over the baggage allowance, so I need a visitor (niece or nephew to travel light and bring one).

Getting the film you want is a big problem in Turkey, it's best to buy all you can in the UK and travel back with it. At present I have no darkroom access, I've yet to meet a serious film photographer here but then I'm miles from Istanbul. There's also a possibility on film/paper supplies bypassing the current importers.

We are talking about an APUG meet/workshop in Istanbul in the Spring, there are quite a few active Turkish APUG members.

Thanks Ian - I don't get back to the Uk too often but if I really find nothing locally then the UK maybe the best option.

As for the APUG meet-up in the Spring, any more details on that?

Tim

This illustrates one of the drawbacks with 8 X 10. It involves serious money. Although I have a sinar P2 8 X 10 it does not get frequent use. It seems mine is not the only one that is trifling away. On the other hand a nice field camera..... But buying on ebay has it issues

To be fair, my Ebony 45SU (only 4x5 inch format) cost me £4.5K last year. The Ebony SV810E (the Ebony version) has a normal selling price in the UK, ex-VAT, of £6,865 plus at least £1200 for the reducing back**, depending upon what sort you buy.

Buying on ebay does indeed have issues.... then again with reputable dealers there isn't a problem.

It did not sell, so I suppose it was not that cheap after all, or there is reason to doubt sellers reputation.
