The Return of Quickload
Re: The Return of Quickload
If anyone is actually speaking to Fuji, could they find out what emulsions are currently being imported to the UK in 5x4, 5x4 QL and 10x8. I'd also be interested to know what emulsions are being manufactured in sheets worldwide. There are so many rumours and 'news reports' and next to no real information on the UK site. If Kodak could get their prices a little more competitive in the UK then I'd switch in a shot.

UPDATE FROM ROBERT WHITE...
Are there any Japanese speakers who could check with Fuji in Japan?Dear Thingy
Thank you for the email. As far as we were aware Fuji were continuing the QL film for the Japanese market but were stopping worldwide sales. Although I have not heard of any further development it is not inconceivable that they have decided to change their stance. We have heard no news from Fuji UK.

Re: The Return of Quickload
Hi Jenny, I've heard nothing apart from what has been discussed on APUG. I was relieved however, when this evening Fuji UK contacted me to confirm that my order for 6 boxes of QL Velvia 50 had arrived and that all I needed to do was pay up.jennym wrote:Has anyone heard any more about these rumours?

Re: The Return of Quickload
Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd post a message here to see if there are any current updates to share now that we all know the QL's are not readily available if at all. The reason for the comment is more of a question to see if anyone has heard as to when we will see the new boxes of the replacement standard loads on the market. Specifically I'm interested in the V-50 in either 20 or 50 per box units. Originally I'd heard July, then August time frame. As September is the start of the fall color season here in the western states I would hope they, Fuji, have got things sorted out a bit better then what brought us to this point in the first place. Thank you for any updates that can be shared.

Re: The Return of Quickload
Unfortunately, since my original post here. I've had a talk with some Fuji reps & a couple of people in the industry. Definately no production of Quickload of any kind is happening at all, nada, zip.
Fuji (God bless em) can't seem to organise a bloody tea party, all vendors can do is place an order, and see what comes through. There's no information on stock levels, nothing. Totally hopeless. It seems it comes in when it comes in!
Robert White here in the UK has some current stock. Anyone else have any news/info

Re: The Return of Quickload
Teamwork are selling Velvia and Pro 160s on the auction site, but I'd need to check my lottery numbers before ordering!

Re: The Return of Quickload
Thank you for your responses. Overall B&H seems to still have a mixture of QL's on hand, including V-50 at this point in time. It has been really odd how this has played out. During my communications with B&H a few months back when the QL's were being discussed as items of history, they were not being updated with information from Fuji back then at all. Shortly there after almost all Fuji 4x5 was missing from B&H ordering on the net, only to have it return recently. Who knows......

Re: The Return of Quickload
Hi,
Fujilab UK are still offering Velvia 50 (£74.17) and Provia 100F (£67.13) in Quickload. Unfortunately, I can't afford any more and my freezer's almost full anyway

Re: The Return of Quickload
Looks like the same thing at B&H at this point in time. Pricing looks comparable as well.

Re: The Return of Quickload
RW also expect to get another consignment of QL Acros, which was due this month, but is delayed. I have reserved two boxes. I also bought two boxes of Pro160S earlier this month.

Re: The Return of Quickload
Incase this is of use to the diehard quickload fans here, I spotted that Mr Cad is doing the oft-maligned velvia 100f for 43 quid a box.
(Also 64T QL at £24 a box)
