Right Folks - I've just spent 20 minutes on the phone to Gabriel who is essentially Fuji's Film manager for the UK. Its true - V50 is being discontinued according to him
world wide.
That will leave V100 and Provia in 5x4.
They are expecting two more deliveries - one next month and the next in December 2012.
Time to explore T/S lenses for Nikon D800E

Digi-snapper now (finally) turned LF shooter hmm been doing this long enuff - Now LF photog !

Fuji has indeed confirmed this. Have a look at:

I've only used a couple of MF rolls of Velvia 50 in the past. Very fine grained, nice contrast but way to saturated for my taste. Nevertheless, it's a loss.

As in many cases with the film products there seems to be a lot of confusion and hard to get real or total information on the subject. After reading this thread and the article in BJP linked here I had immediate concerns on the proposed demise of the V-50 in 4x5 size. That is my primary usage and has been for quite a few years now.
I sent an email to Fuji USA specifically asking about the proposed discontinued production of the V-50 once again in the 4x5 LF size. According to the representative who responded he was unaware of any proposal along these lines. Once again, we are left wondering what will take place, sooner, or later....
Knowing Kodak is out of the picture now on transparency films, I did find this information with regard to price increases on Fuji products due August 1 world-wide.....

It's interesting(?) that this news is only being announced by Fujifilm UK. I have not been able to find this product announcement on any other official Fuji/Fujifilm website, admittedly I don't speak Japanese so am unable to determine if this has been announced in the home territory of Fuji. All discussion on this matter on the US LF forum originates from the UK announcement, nowhere else in Europe has this been announced...

Mmm! Well I'd decided to sell up and spend the money on tilt shift lens's 35 times today, and decided against the idea 36 times
For me personally I could possibly live with velvia 100 and provia 100 for close up landscape studies (inner landscapes if you like) although not through choice, but for how long are Fuji prepared to hang on to those emulsions? My dilemma continues!
