I just spoke to Joe and I think he's just happy he's got to grips with MF digital. He did remind me that Peter Dombrovskis didn't shoot with quickloads and he would go out for 3 day trips with just DDS's! It's all a matter of perspective I suppose. I shall definitely be taking less B sheets though..dave_whatever wrote:Useful post that Tim. I was wondering where the break even point would be weightwise, and as you say that 6-8 sheets should be ample for most users. I know even when shooting with a 6x7 back, even in my most overzealous bracketing moods, I'd be pretty rare for me to shoot an entire roll of 10 frames in one sitting.timparkin wrote:I've posted a little bit about comparative weights of double dark slides and quickload film. The increased weight isn't particularly onerous but they take up a lot more space.tug wrote:The British Journal of Photography is reporting that Fuji will discontinue all QL production in April 2010 http://www.bjp-online.com/public/showPa ... age=872222

I was put off from getting into LF for ages because I thought that for it to work I'd have to use quickloads, and that would make it too expensive, and that darkslides sounded a nightmare for loading, dust, and weight/bulk. As it turns out darkslides are dead easy to load, i've not yet had a problem with dust, and for the low volume I shoot the bulk is minimal. And whats more the film costs are a fraction of quickloads. Be interesting to hear what realtively high-volume users make of it though (Cornish?).
