Hello All,

A selection of my LF prints have been accepted for an exhibition this coming Friday. The exhibition is over the weekend and it would be exhibited among other paint artists, sculpters etc. The title of this exhibition is "Salute to the Arts".

Unfortunely, the exhibition is going to be held in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. Would have invited all of you to come along .

Some of the prints are on this forum.

Wish me luck that it would be the begining of something bigger.

Cheers

Chong

Hi Chong - good luck with the exhibition

Is it an exhibition where you can sell work? Is this the start of the Aussie Joe Cornish?

If you get a tug from the taxman for any sales, someone over here in the MF world who's also an accountant says that it all goes down as expenses for film, travel etc so no profit made 8)

I had a couple of prints in the YPU echange with the WAPF in Perth one year and someone was interested in buying one so I priced it at 20 GBP (way under what it would cost to reshoot / reprint) which converted to roughly 50 ASD as far as I remember - it came back as too expensive - the Yorkshire "carefullness" extends further than we thought!

Thanks Buddy.

All prints will have to be on sale and I really dont want to part with the Autumnal Leaves that I had taken in Bodmin Moor and St. Michael Mount. Both which you have seen.

Do the sale prints have to be "originals" or is there some pro lab over there that could reprint from neg/pos or produce a decent copy?

You could do a limited edition run of signed prints... 8)

Thanks Paul.

There are no pro labs around here but I have been sending my 4x5 transparencies to get them scan. There is a shop that does do decent giclee prints and apparently I was told that the inks will last for more than 70 years under normal display conditions.

We'll see how it go. I may not sell any prints at all but then the most important to me at the moment is getting them out there to be seen.

Cheers

All the prints are up and looks good. Tonight is the opening night and there will be a judge judging on the different categories. Will update later.

P.S. Bought an oil painting from a budding artist (it was priced below the material cost, in my opinion).

Cheers

The Autumnal Leaves taken at Bodmin Moor has won the Photography section and got a cheque for just under 100 GBP.
