Mount cutting

Post by Paul Mitchell » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:18 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I am looking to start mounting some of my work with deep bevel mounts, typically 2.5mm. I already hand cut most of my mounts using a Logan mount cutter but it cannot cope with that thickness of board. Does anyone know of a commercial mount cutting service? I've tried local framing companies but they all want to charge huge amounts.

These people have an eBay shop selling mounts and offer a custom service. I don't know if they can provide thicker board. They claim that their cutter is computer controlled. I was quoted £1.95 per mount for 20" x 16" with 16" x 12" cut out + £10.00 delivery (on order of 20 mounts)
