Digitalab in Newcastle are running a competition at the moment.
The first prize is £1200 worth of printing & framing, plus 1 months exclusive use of their gallery, The F Stop.
Up to 5 images, the subject is "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly!".
Judging will be by Joe Cornish.

If I can get some ideas for the subject I'll give it a go.

Good luck.

Details can be found here:

Thanks for pointing this competition out - I did think it was worth a punt and so put a few images in.

Bloody glad I did....

I'm taking delivery of my framed limited edition print from Joe over the weekend!

Well done Paul! I hope you put your recent Acer shot in as it's definitely one that I'd have on my wall

Rather shamefully it was this image that won me the prize

Image

It wasn't a large format shot, but a digi one. Tried to take it with the Ebony, but I couldn't really get the camera in the right place.

I did submit the Acer one, but I don't think it fulfilled the brief properly, whereas the bridge was more what they were looking for.

Nothing to ashamed of it's an excellent image.

I actually prefer the shot above to the winner and 3rd place - but thats competitions for you!

What was the print you won of, and how big?

Many congratulations Paul, it's a cracking shot! I think the question refers to your prize of a Joe Cornish print and whether you get the one he has provided or if you get a choice. Could be wrong, though! :)

I was referring to "which bit's the good"

I think it's a picture of roseberry topping.(surprise surprise) I haven't seen it yet - I'll let you know when I do.

Interesting that they're all urban.

What do you all think? The brief was "the good the bad an the ugly"

I'm tempted to think that there was a deliberate choice to pick three shots that could be described as good, bad and ugly, so your one would obviously be representing Good in relation to the other 2 which could be interchangeable as Bad and Ugly. Mind you, it's interesting how the other 2 are panos and yours is almost 5x4 like a good LF film shot should be! :)
