Flights cancelled? Stay home and break open the velvia.
Just a thought here, there may be a silver lining to this Icelandic volcanic ash saga. It must be a true ballache for anyone heading abroad this weekend, but does this ash mean we're likely to see plenty of wildly coloured sunsets over the coming days/weeks/months? A bit like after Mt Pinatubu (spelling?) blew its top in the 90s.

We can hope. But did you notice that there were no jet trails in the sky today... and hopefully tomorrow as well. Now to find that shot that can make use of the way the clouds seem different as well

I'd just be happy to see enough sky to know if there were vapour trails or not! Bloody overcast weather.

Frustratingly clear skies and no real colour of note here on the South Coast. The cloud that was around yesterday afternoon, getting my hopes up had teasingly started playing hide and seek by the time the sun was getting low.

Yep, pretty much the same thing over here just along from Arundel. I was up and over the downs at 5.30am and the light was nothing to write home about. Nice having a plane free sky though!Baxter wrote:Frustratingly clear skies and no real colour of note here on the South Coast.

Beautiful images, I didn't realize the Isle of Wight was so hilly!
