ok so you know when you load up your darkslide film at home, and you take your pictures, how do you package it to send to processing? as in do you put it in envelopes? what kind? as much info as possible would be cool

If you are sending it to a lab and you don't have a spare film box, call the lab and ask if they can send you a spare triple box, like the one your film came in. Pack the spare space in the box to avoid the sheets of film jiggling about and scratching each other. Then send the box in a padded envelope, requesting the lab to return the box after processing.

does the box of film that you post them in have to be taped up etc before it goes in the padded envelope?

so what your basically doing is putting the loose film sheets back into a suitable box, and then putting that in an envelope? what do you pack between the sheets of film? paper? bubble wrap?

im assuming it all needs to be sealed light tight?

and when they open it theyll know what it is and open it light free?

If the lab gives you a box with the original foil packet and cardboard sleeve inside then you won't need to bother packing any space out.

And make sure you mark the box, exposed film open only in a darkroom. etc.

I suggest you call the lab you are thinking of using and check what instructions they need. It is usually pretty straightforward. Make sure you use a film box with three parts or you may get a light leak.
