Trail Images wrote:Thanks for the post on Badger, Frederick. Was Astia ever sold in 20 sheet per box before the QL demise? Just curious as to out of date issues with various supplies out there. The V-50 QL's I've received from B&H so far have all been late 2011 dates. Not that the dating is a big issue, but always wanting to get the expiration date out as far as possible. So, the question would be, did Badger receive the first boxes of newer standard load 20 sheet boxes of Astia, or is this older stuff and Astia was capable of being bought in that quantity before now. I've lost track of these stats since I began to use all QL's years back now.
That pretty much proves that they aren't dropping Astia - very good news...

Tim, hopefully that is the case. Not unless as I asked, was the Astia ever available in 20 sheet boxes prior. I suspect that the expiration date Frederick will see when he gets the box will help decide if it's a newer released item, or just an old box left over from previous runs some time ago. I'm truly hopeful that they have kept Astia going even after the demise of the QL's. It is an excellent transparency film that scans very well overall and is used by many 4x5 shooters locally here in California.
For what it's worth, I looked at the Fuji Film USA site under Professional Photography and they still show Astia listed in 4x5 sheets. I will hope the site info is up to date. :D

It also shows the Velvia's and Provia as well. :)

I bought 5 boxes (of 10 sheets) of Astia F last year from MACO in Germany. You can now buy the new boxes of 20 sheets for Euros 46.17 plus shipping. Details below.

this looks good, thanks for that, should speed up the delivery and cut out possible tax issues:)

virtually for the same price as u.s too:) perfect

its so daft that we cant get easily for a good price here in the uk.

does anyone have any idea at all how much a crate of this would cost from fuji? i was chatting to a client about how i read that fuji only ship by a minimum of one pallete and as we maybe dont have that kind of demand here in the uk, then that would be why they dont ship here.

my client said, well why dont you buy a pallete then and sell it on?

proably because it would cost a bomb or otherwise im sure we all would be doing it:)

Indications seem to favor that Astia is alive and well. This is all good news and hopefully remains on the upswing for all the chromes Fuji showed on their list of survivors. Of course like most everything in our money driven world, it will take a steady flow of purchases to retain this good luck, no doubt.... :D

OK, after reviewing the Badger site this morning, Astia, Provia, and Velvia 50 are all there in 20 sheet boxes. This is a good sign that things maybe finally starting to hit the shelves overall.

Excellent news, Frederick. Thank you for the follow up to our mystery regarding the 20 sheet boxes of Astia. That dating of 2012 obviously places a strong stamp of approval that Astia did in fact make Fuji's updated product list overall. :D

Hello !
If I'm not mistaken, Fuji sell sheet film in 20 size box in Japan and 10 or 25 sheet size in Europe or America. Maybe they are rationalising by putting the 20 sheet boxes on every market ?
If I'm right that may explain the "It's not made any more " answer you get (as the Fuji order number has been dropped. )

Dear Frederick

Thank you for your Inquiry regarding availability of Astia in the UK.
Unfortunately, due to extremely low sales on all formats of Astia it had
become unviable for us to import this film into the UK for distribution.
We would suggest you purchase this film via retailers abroad who may stock
Astia.

kind regards
Gabriel Da Costa

Georges, there truly has been confusion and little direct information from Fuji on the subject overall. However, most postings in forums indicate that once Fuji dropped the Quickloads entirely, they planned to package cut / standard loads in 20 sheet boxes throughout. Beyond that maybe a chance of moving to 50 sheet boxes which were at one time available, but I would not see that happening except for possibly high quantity moving products. There is a link listed in a comment above that shows a vendor in Europe, Germany as I recall, selling Astia in 20 sheet boxes.
